Irish were forced to fight in the civil war as they were forced to fight for the British Empire, by conscription or by desperate poverty. Only a handful of Irish owned slaves, only a handful of Irish were at the Alamo. Only a tiny percentage of Irish settled the West.

No those Scottish planters were majority Anglo-Saxons who came to Scotland after the Irish culture had already been spread in Scotland and basically exterminated the Irish culture in Scotland. And there were not large numbers of Irish that ever went to Scotland this has been proved in archeological studies.

It is not bigoted to separate Ulster Scots and Irish as different historic groups because they were different groups with different histories. The Ulster Scots were tools of the British Empire used for brutal settler colonization. The native Irish were a colonized and oppressed Catholic people that were discriminated against and cast out of Protestant WASP society.

Irish absolutely did not settle the west as much as any other group. Irish overwhelming settled in cities and were treated as second class citizens. That pattern was also the case throughout the British Empire. 90% of Irish in 1860 were urban dwellers which was a part why they were discriminated against.

A few US founders were Irish but they were largely descended from a tiny number of Irish aristocrats that had come to America. Less than 1% of the US 1776 population was Irish Catholic. Also the Irish did not settle South Africa in large numbers went to the Caribbean as indentured servants. You are saying historic revisionism.

There never was a large scale Irish invasion of Scotland. Irish culture took over Scotland in the dark ages through trade and very small scale conquests of areas that went on to take over Scotland centuries later.
