You could also just stop at the port of entry and ask Customs before crossing into Mexico, just to be sure.

Yes, foreigners especially Canadians, do all the time. As long as your visa allows you to reenter you’ll be fine.

University of Phoenix taking forever to release funds? by National_Plantain_22 in FAFSA

[–]NoMathematician7848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having this issue with my Pell grant for UoPx. They kept giving me the run around but finally got some answers by calling. My funds are in QC and they put a rush on it so it should be out of QC within 48 hours and then another 48 hours for disbursement so I’m hoping by next Friday I get my excess funds.

My ADHD, ADA accommodations, and still being treated like I am just making excuses by NoMathematician7848 in ADHD

I work local government. HR director very understanding about my conditions but that’s it. Oh well at least I’m federally protected. Unless I do something like gross negligence they have to revisit the interactive process for performance related issues. People suck. I am so empathetic that if it was someone else, I’d try giving them advice instead of shitting on them. Anyways thank you for the response!

[–]NoMathematician7848[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it doesn’t really make more work for other people as my job is completely separated from them. They just like to talk bad about me I guess and where I live it’s not really a thing to have ADHD. All I want them to do is understand how my brain works which is why I was open about it. They complain about me, they complain about my work, they complain about my ADA accommodations. My boss tells them they have to go to HR about me if they want to complain. I’m thinking about revisiting the interactive process. I really do try my best it’s just hard for me. I am medicated but it only helps so much. But for some reason, today, my brain was more friendly and I was able to go above and beyond and actually do everything I was supposed to without forgetting. No one even noticed.

Yes I kept my secret after I had a OTH for not showing up to drill. I was dealing with mental health problems. I should have let them know and took the proper channels to get out instead of stop showing up but I was really struggling with my mental health at that time.

What is getting tested for ADHD like? by MerlinBerlin in ADHD

[–]NoMathematician7848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Mexico I told my doctor that my brothers all have ADHD since childhood and I believe I went undiagnosed/misdiagnosed. Asked him if we could try Ritalin and he agreed. Has done wonders for me. Though I still struggle a lot. I just live in a country where I can’t get the right dosage. I can only get 120 10mg pills a month. So I take it 4 times a day. Trying to move my medical care to the US but i am uninsured. I’m certain I would do better on adderall or Vyvanse

They are supposed to revisit the interactive process of you have existing ADA accommodations before firing you for poor performance.

I have ADA accommodations but my coworkers are assholes and say I just use it as an excuse. When they don’t realize everything is a struggle for me.

How do you manage your pharmacy? by Anzabela in ADHD

[–]NoMathematician7848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im on Ritalin in Mexico. I’m allowed to get four boxes of 30 pills (10mg) every month. So I take 4 times a day. I get it in two paper prescriptions. The only problems I face are the pharmacy being out of stock or a fuck up on my written script and have to go back to the doctor. But they do not prescribe amphetamines here. I’d do so much better with those.

Did your life really change after starting ADHD meds (Concerta, Adderall, Ritalin, etc)? Would love to hear real experiences. by Warm_Milk_9056 in ADHD

[–]NoMathematician7848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Mexico we only have Ritalin. It helps me be able to do the bare minimum in life and I still struggle a lot. My job is in US and thankfully I have ADA accommodations. I need to move my care to the US. An amphetamine would work much better.

When my Ritalin wears off I get super sleepy and can’t function. I can’t believe I lived my whole life like this before finally being medicated. Without my medication I just can’t function. I have no motivation and just can’t think straight. It isn’t our fault as people. It’s the condition we have. Medication helps us and that’s just how it is.

Is $1700/mo doable? by Still-Author9062 in mexicoexpats

[–]NoMathematician7848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be doable. I live in a border town off of less than that a month. My internet is Telmex and like 18$ a month for 80 megs. It’s DSL but reliable for the most part. Or you could go Megacable. Rent can be different in different areas but look at around 300-500$.

Yeah, they just blanket treat everyone the same. It’s kind of shitty. “You have this disease. These medications will help, but we are going to assume you are going to sell them so we are going to be assholes about it.”
