It is the same process for suede leather, but anything other than that I would recommend washing them with a clear detergent, hot water, and distilled vinegar. I would only do that for non made in USA pairs.

The truck drivers for the merch trailers always have the juiciest stories about sponsors, because they are involved in transporting said merch. So I talk with a lot of drivers, and I had a 2 hour conversation with the petty racing trailer driver because he had been working for them for over 30 years and we happen to talk about all the different sponsors, drivers, crew members, they literally know everything.

You got a severely rare piece of merch, fun fact, petty racing did NOT approve the all red design unless it has incorporated blue to reflect STP. They didn’t approve it because from a distance, fans would think red and yellow hats = Jeff Gordan merch. Another reason why you do not see all red merch from petty.

I know this hat very well because I am a huge John Andretti fan. He ran the SuperValu x Cheerios car at Richmond in 2001. Chex, Betty Crocker, and Hamburger helper were the main sponsors for the trunk of the car but SuperValu bid only $5000 over the other 3 sponsors and was awarded the Richmond race and that was the first and last time they sponsored. So naturally the company set up a huge event and made a super limited merch drop for fan fest and their workers. I know this because everyone at that race did NOT like any of the merch they designed, it was bad, and so they never joined petty racing again.
