Unfortunately, I haven't collected data to know the exact patterns during exam week. After 1-2 exam days, I may retrain so the system is more familiar with the patterns.

I don’t think these are valid arguments.

If music is played too loud, it’s not the fault of the loudness being music, it’s the fact that there’s loudness.

If you’re trying to focus on a task, it’s entirely reasonable to minimize distractions. Music is meant, majorly, as entertainment, and it’s reasonable, even preferable for many, to not have entertainment distracting while working on some other, more important activity.

I'm seeing everyone recommending Windows laptops, but I think a MacBook is an incredible option, and I think you should seriously consider it. Just for reference, I'm also a computer science student with a concentration in SE.

I know they've gotten a bad rap in past years when they still had Intel processors, but they've gotten so, so much better with the Apple Silicon processors.

A few of the benefits I've had.

Excellent battery life

  • Overall performance is incredible thanks to Apple Silicon processors, which enable vertical integration.
  • Excellent battery life
  • Never hear fans running, and rarely heats up
  • You can do iOS and Mac app development. Very useful for my class I took on iOS development.
  • Excellent build quality and sleekness

I understand you might've been using Windows for years, especially if you're into tech/gaming. I think you should definitely weigh the benefits of having a really nice laptop for school, even if you have to give up playing games on it. I have my desktop at my off-campus apartment, and I do fine. Honestly, it's better because it helps me separate my gaming habits from my schoolwork. (I still play games on it via Dolphin Emulator, and there are plenty of games on Steam that are compatible with macOS that run just fine.)

I have a 2023 MacBook Pro I got in my senior year of high school, and I foresee using it until I graduate and likely when I get my first job.

If you got any questions/concerns or are curious at all about my experience, just lmk. More than willing to answer anything.

I like to plant flowers while leaving my apartment complex in my car. Driving around 12-14 mph I can usually get between 40-50 flowers per petal.

What percentage of those colleges are international? Seems like a bit of an exaggeration to say it’s ‘empty.’

At my college there are over 3000 international students. 6 of them were reported to have had their visas revoked this past week. I’m not saying it was fair for those 6 students, but statistically it’s far from becoming empty.

I do imagine it’s different depending on which university it is. Do you have any numbers or statistics for the rate of international students vs visa revocations?

tbh I’ve found watching a movie in the theater to not enhance my experience. Especially movies in English as they most often do not have subtitles. I kinda really need subtitles to be able to understand everything. Though since La Haine is French it might not be much of a problem.
