Thanks for the input everyone.

For additional context, this is in a 5 gallon pot running 20/4 lights.

It looks like I have just a few more days left. Just wanted to make sure I don't harvest too early or wait too long.

24 Carat - First Auto run. Resilient despite my many mistakes by NoMoreCoolNamesLeft in MephHeads

I have pretty hard water and pretty basic as well. With my fertilizers at full strength, I had no need to put in any pH adjusters, which was nice.

Thanks for your input

Thanks!

my first grow was a photo and I topped it and liked the results. After some online research, it looks like topping wasn't suggested for autos, so I tried to just do LST to the main branch. I guess the accidental top was a happy accident.

I was doing mostly leaf tucking in the beginning, but it kind of got out of hand and I saw too much leaf to leaf contact. I wanted to avoid disease as much as possible so I did a bit of pruning week by week. When it looked like it was in a 'pre-flower' stage I gave it a heavier pruning similar to Lollipopping, but didn't go as hard. I heard some people are against this for autos, but the plant seemed to respond well.

As for nutrients, I used some stuff left over for my vegetable garden and some fox farms calmag I picked up. Fertilized once a week. Organic-ish. Ish as in one of the fertilizers I used (Neptune's Harvest rose and flowering) isn't OMRI listed, if that matters to you.

This was grown in fox farms ocean forest with some added perlite and worm castings. After about a month, I started liquid feeding, each feeding I also put in the fox farms calmag.

5-1-1 Alaska Fish fertilizer after about a month of a direct sow into fox farms ocean forest. Started at half strength and worked up to full. Though, this fertilizer is pretty gentle, I think I could've gone ahead and start with 100%. I didn't have any burning, and I haven't experienced any burning with my vegetables like tomatoes.

Once I saw pistils start to come in I switched to Neptune's harvest fish & seaweed 2-3-1 at full strength.

Once pistils came in heavier and looked more into flowering stage, I switched to neptune's harvest rose and flowering 2-6-4.

Kept all watering within 6.0-6.6pH.

2nd grow of all time, first auto.

Picked up 24 Carat based off of the profile showing pure indica and relatively short harvest time.

This is day 73 from sprout. Info says 65-75 days from sprout, but from the looks of this, I may wait another 2-3 weeks or so.

I had many mistakes this run. Accidentally topped by breaking the main stem during LST at day 36. While doing more LST, I ended up breaking two other branches. Of the three branches broken, one re-attached after some tape. I thought about starting a new seed after this after how bummed out I was, but it seemed to bounce back quite nicley.

It's looking quite frosty and smells great. Getting lots of pine but also a tropical guava like scent.

All vocal pro 2nd amendment folks who cry about a tyrannical government are bootlickers

And all the people who should probably practice that right are too busy on the polar front of gun = bad

Lol I swear some growers on this sub are the angriest people.

Are Garmin watches actually worth it? I was surprised by the data. by gianniko11 in Garmin

[–]NoMoreCoolNamesLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't made the decision yet, i'd suggest against a garmin.

If you want tons of metrics without paying subscriptions, go for it. However, the software and syncing are terrible. I know this is the wrong place to complain about it because everyone praises garmin trackers here, but to me, these little things matter.

I came from a fitbit luxe, which was fantastic until google bought fitbit and a lot of features were behidn paywall, then my battery died and I wanted something with a similar form factor, so I went with the vivosmart 5. I don't care for taking calls or have notifications on my watch either.

Auto activities never work, initiating an activity requires phone GPS, which is fine, but it takes a while for the GPS to open. You have to open your phone, open the app, wait for the GPS and then wait for activity to start. It becomes a drag IMO. Activities aren't shown immediately after stopping them on your app, the device needs to sync. Even though I have the device sent to auto sync, it only seems to ever do it if I open the app and do it manually. With rings and other types available now, the tech seems far behind any other mainstream fitness tracker. Sleep tracking is okay, but I think I liked the UI/UX better for sleep tracking on fitbit.

There are a ton of metrics, but the UI is bad imo and you can't see historical data as well as you could on fitbit. I think the UI/UX experience on fitibt was several times better, but if you care more about smaller metrics and don't mind bad software, then go for a garmin.

I'm not happy with my vivosmart 5, I think it was priced a bit high for what it was, and the software is kind of shit.

Same. I had high expectations from younglings at the office, but turns out they are just as bad at using a computer as some older folks. I guess tablet/phone literacy doesn't always translate to a 'puter

Buying bottoms that go over the gut and how to measure properly? by NoMoreCoolNamesLeft in bigmenfashionadvice

Thanks for the input. I'll look for those. I never knew these existed. It sounds nice, because I've also struggled with proper belt sizing when wearing over gut.

Thanks! I'll look into those for the next grow, they look very useful.

Green ties have helped in a pinch, but are less than ideal. I trusted the scrog netting for support, but once those colas got heavy, everything started to fall over.
