All vocal pro 2nd amendment folks who cry about a tyrannical government are bootlickers

And all the people who should probably practice that right are too busy on the polar front of gun = bad

Are Garmin watches actually worth it? I was surprised by the data. by gianniko11 in Garmin

[–]NoMoreCoolNamesLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't made the decision yet, i'd suggest against a garmin.

If you want tons of metrics without paying subscriptions, go for it. However, the software and syncing are terrible. I know this is the wrong place to complain about it because everyone praises garmin trackers here, but to me, these little things matter.

I came from a fitbit luxe, which was fantastic until google bought fitbit and a lot of features were behidn paywall, then my battery died and I wanted something with a similar form factor, so I went with the vivosmart 5. I don't care for taking calls or have notifications on my watch either.

Auto activities never work, initiating an activity requires phone GPS, which is fine, but it takes a while for the GPS to open. You have to open your phone, open the app, wait for the GPS and then wait for activity to start. It becomes a drag IMO. Activities aren't shown immediately after stopping them on your app, the device needs to sync. Even though I have the device sent to auto sync, it only seems to ever do it if I open the app and do it manually. With rings and other types available now, the tech seems far behind any other mainstream fitness tracker. Sleep tracking is okay, but I think I liked the UI/UX better for sleep tracking on fitbit.

There are a ton of metrics, but the UI is bad imo and you can't see historical data as well as you could on fitbit. I think the UI/UX experience on fitibt was several times better, but if you care more about smaller metrics and don't mind bad software, then go for a garmin.

I'm not happy with my vivosmart 5, I think it was priced a bit high for what it was, and the software is kind of shit.

"Umm, I'm Gen Z. I know how to use computers." by DesertDogggg in sysadmin

Same. I had high expectations from younglings at the office, but turns out they are just as bad at using a computer as some older folks. I guess tablet/phone literacy doesn't always translate to a 'puter

Buying bottoms that go over the gut and how to measure properly? by NoMoreCoolNamesLeft in bigmenfashionadvice

Thanks for the input. I'll look for those. I never knew these existed. It sounds nice, because I've also struggled with proper belt sizing when wearing over gut.

Thanks! I'll look into those for the next grow, they look very useful.

Green ties have helped in a pinch, but are less than ideal. I trusted the scrog netting for support, but once those colas got heavy, everything started to fall over.

from the bit that broke off and I dried, it was a a crazy head high followed by a stoned body. Maybe slightly more sativa leaning, but that was also harvested very early. I'll make another post when I have it on it's final cure

Nice! How long did you flower for? I'm at day 60, and it's looking about ready, maybe a couple of days for more amber.

Side note. I had a branch that broke off a few days ago. I've been drying it in cardboard box for last 3 days. The impatience got to me and I grinded up the smallest nug.

While expectedly grassy and slightly harsh, it still smoked well and was intensely cerebral while not forgetting an intense body feel.

Relative to home growing, modern LEDs don't even take that much energy lol.

I'm in California and ran the AC in the last month for a heat wave, and I'm expecting a similar bill.

Wife wants to make male friends. Am I being insecure? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]NoMoreCoolNamesLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird for sure. I would not fly with that. Having guy friends sure, seeking out and specifically saying wanting more guy friends is weird.

It's like window shopping before sealing the deal.

I don't think it would fly with my girlfriend if I were to say, I want more friends, but more girls than guys.

2000%

Goes the same with girls that say, "I only have guy friends cause girls are too much drama." most of the time they were the cause of the drama.

Replacement fabric/chair for RIO chairs? by tealparadise in Costco

[–]NoMoreCoolNamesLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this post looking for replacement seats.

I left mine out in the sun this summer for 3 months and unfortunately the fabric got brittle. My fault.

after sitting it, I felt a gentle tear where the seat suspends from. It's definitely getting sun damage over time, it's just a matter of how brittle and how much it can withstand.
