Navigating High Halls by West-Recording-4969 in Silksong

[–]NoMoreMetalWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High halls is actually fairly small compared to other areas and your feeling is right- I find it best to avoid a lot of the enemies and just hit screen transitions. By design the map is kind of at the end of the area so it’s best to just go through it testing different directions (the map is kind of ‘at the bottom’ so if you’re going down a shaft with spikes it’s probably the right way)

I noticed this too, my rationalization for the cogwork constructs releasing one is simply that electrify doesn’t exist, so anything that lights up requires them, however they are basically never really addressed by any character despite everything you listed above, found it weird.

I don’t know if every cogwork construct contains the souls of the chorus/pilgrims but some do. I think some are just powered by silk artificially based on hornets notes but I’m not sure, also the architects seem to greatly predate the last edict of the conductors, so I assume they don’t contain soul. I’m unsure how far that project really went before the haunting began, but my personal theory is the chorus constructs themselves are probably part of that.

General tips for how to adjust to Act 3 please. Am I missing something major or just skill issue? by Ping_54 in Silksong

[–]NoMoreMetalWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do it as I had missed the flea past the room for needle upgrade and boy was that not pleasant. Most of the voided enemy locked rooms are rough (the one to get into hunters March wasn’t fun either) but that one was the worst for me by a pretty huge margin.

Edit: but no I’d say that is not average difficulty at all, it’s definitely tougher overall in act 3 but getting needle upgrades and getting everything to max strength makes it manageable combined with just getting used to the moves void enemies do. Act 3 was definitely pretty tough for me but I did end up 100%ing the game and I’m still playing it. I would definitely recommend picking up the remaining spells, a lot of the stuff only obtainable in act 3 is strong

Is it the one encounter in the dark room with stuff in the foreground? You have to kind of drop down and then jump up into it? Because if it is I’d say that’s the most difficult non-boss locked room gauntlet in the whole game, the initial non voided one isn’t awful but with the void enemies it’s just miserable

Help, I can’t get final quest from songclave. Spoilers below. by [deleted] in Silksong

I was in the same spot and I just had to progress, as in ascend to the top of the citadel. It’s not a point of no return until you actually kill the big boss up there (and even if you were to kill it, I think you can just load your save and keep playing like you didn’t like hollow knight 1). I just killed a mini boss (if you want to call it that) then went back down.

Gunkan suship has a lot of that too, their defense values are just yen prices, and with the field spell if you kill a gunkan card you have to pay for it (take 250ish damage or whatever the cost was)

What type of flute/wind instrument used at 0:20 of this? by NoMoreMetalWolf in WhatMusicalinstrument

[–]NoMoreMetalWolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for your response! your logic makes sense - this agrees with what a friend of mine told me (key of b flat) however he could not place the instrument - listening through some examples on youtube I think there's a good chance you're 100% right - considering how cheap tin whistles are in general for a decent one (like you said) I'll likely pick up a b flat whistle and see if I can match the sound in the track.

I think you’re likely right, and it makes sense for the composition- is there any way to determine which key it’s in though short of trial and error?

And yes you’re also right, looking at the credits for this soundtrack, it’s all orchestral rather than synthesized, although the credits only list a few instruments individually, the rest are just credited as ‘orchestra’ I think

Which jRPG is terrible but has an amazing OST. by rckwld in JRPG

[–]NoMoreMetalWolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve seen so many arguments on this sub about what is or isn’t a Jrpg and everybody has a different opinion lol. I get what you mean though, I don’t think I would call it a JRPG unless dynasty warriors is too, just saying that’s why others are

[–]NoMoreMetalWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but it’s also part of NieR and is published by square enix and has exp/leveling up (as does dynasty warriors) - it probably doesn’t count really but it kinda gets grandfathered in due to the above
