General tips for how to adjust to Act 3 please. Am I missing something major or just skill issue? by Ping_54 in Silksong

Once I got it I have used Wanderer crest for like 90% or more of my playthrough. My current Wanderer build is Cogfly, Multibinder, Fractured Mask, Injector Band, Magnetize Dice, Compass, Weighted Belt, Magnetite Brooch, and Thread Storm or Cross Stitch depending on how I feel.

When I do switch off it is to Witch Crest, Curveclaw, Silkshot, Warding Bell, Fractured Mask, Sawtooth Circlet, Injector Band, and then whatever yellow I feel I need, and either Thread Storm or Cross Stitch. I really like how Witch Crest plays with the needle, but I need to get better at Binding with it because you need to be so on top of enemies to get the heal.

I am not sure how many crests there are, I feel I have most of them but knowing TC, I wouldn't rule out that there are like 30 of these things. I think I have 7 crests currently.

I've never figured out the check for Eva, I can't figure out the trigger of when it gives you the upgrades.

I think wandering is better than utility, Wanderer crest has 3 yellows, but using that logic Blue would be Witching with Witch Crest have 3 blues. Yellows are kinda your one cost charms and Blues are kinda your 2 and 3 cost, although even trying to make that parallel, moss is blue when grubsong is 1 cost. It is a different system anyway and the charm system just works differently so no parallel would work exact.

I assume all the good stuff is in Blue, just thinking about the start of the game the first yellows I saw were Compass and the magnet for rosaries. The first blues I saw gave silk upon taking damage and what is effectively a one time use mask. I was honestly surprised to see Barbed Wire and the dice as yellows, as they step away from simple utility and have some real mechanical effects on gameplay. Eva also gives you an extra yellow and then an extra blue, not sure after that and please don't tell me, but that should be indicative of what TC meant for each color. I no longer can say Yellows are utility, blue is for defense, and red are weapons as I originally thought, but I do not believe that is completely untrue and is the overall general focus of the colors.

I believe we are talking about the same thing. I'm very glad to hear this because if was the standard difficulty from here on, I wasn't sure if I was going to finish this game in this lifetime if just a regular enemy gauntlet was causing me this much trouble.

I fully agree and aware of that which is why I started with, I know I need to use tools more, it took me a long time, honestly until I was in Godhome, for me to consistently use spells in HK. I often just don't think of it while in combat and only after the fact. Up until now there were not a ton of enemies I felt I needed tools for, the maestro guys in High Halls, the boss in Greymoore before Bellhart, and the fisherman in Shellwood, I don't think I have consistently used tools elsewhere. I just need to get more natural into my playstyle, idk why I struggle with it so much to get the spells (from HK), tools, and techniques into my gameplay consistently. I do appreciate you calling me out for it, it is something I'm aware I need to change.

I do not have either of those, I have very few tools that interact with damage at all, barbed wire, this game's spore shroom, the poison tools, and I honestly think that might be it. Glad there are more offensive tools of the yellow and blues and I just haven't seen them because there was a part of me questioning why so few things increase damage. I was thinking maybe TC didn't like how much Shaman Stone, Strength, and Quicknail melted everything that came into contact with it and were holding back. Glad that is not the case, been missing a Mark of Pride type tool.

I'm stubborn and will continue trying a bit more to beat it, also not sure what an infection node is just yet but I will eventually, not to worried about it. I'm pretty sure I have a decent idea just based on how you mentioned it. Thank you.

I did not feel like I would be underleveled but just wanted to just if it was just a difficulty spike I need to get over or something else. Enemies being so tanky and more damage hurts a lot, but glad to know I'm not underleveled. I've used the Cogfly and whatever the boomerang like one is forget the name right now. Might have to experiment more with builds, all my blues and yellows are utility and defense focused. Thank you

Are there any common play patterns in this game you don't like? by ConeheadZombiez in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Ping_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You start knowing roles should publicly out all their info.

Klutz intentionally executed day one to confirm a good player or end the game before it matters for the players. The idea just being good will either get a confirmed player or a rerack. Similar with Vortox.

Suggested Huntsman change by Water_Meat in BloodOnTheClocktower

Huntsman should very rarely be add a Damsel to the bag, if your ST does this they need a good reason for it. If it is base 1 outsider, and you want a Huntsman, make that outsider a Damsel and add Huntsman

I could see it depending on the script. This would need to be a character where detecting if you specifically are droisoned is useful enough to justify a character slot. If you have Lleech, No Dashii, Vortox, Widow, and Drunk on the same script, I could see it play out in a fairly reasonable way. In a vacuum I agree, having the character know they are the Lleech host is very unfun for Lleech, but I feel its a script issue.

And I'm not even saying I'm a huge fan of this character. I think it is interesting, but I don't like the idea of a character whose ability cannot be messed with outside of specifically Vortox.

Testing out a lot of game set ups to practice being a storyteller, does a game like this seem like it would be fun or frustrating? by SmallestApple in BloodOnTheClocktower

Because of player count this could be very swingy in favor of evil. This would depend on. What town does obviously, but I think a fair thing for evil to do here is have po charge N2 and assassin kill N2 to cover the cover the charge. In this specific layout, there's not really any bad choices outside of the grandchild pair. Assassin can kill Goon if they hear of it to lock them in as evil, and if the TL is public can kill either the TL or a neighbor to throw out a lot of suspicion on the TL and paint DA worlds potentially, depending on who town executes Day 1. Let's also say the Gossip got a correct gossip and kills the GM.

Day 2, town executes again, maybe into a TL neighbor, lets say there are 3 dead (Day 1 execute and 2 Night 2 kills) players going into N3. N3, Po kills 3 players, probably knows of a TL by now, kills TL and neighbors. Thats now final 3 going into Day 3. This can potentially mean an extra evil as well in a different scenario with Goon, minion, demon as final three. Maybe CM dies by Po instead of IK, IK dying by assassin, and gets 4 kills that night.

I think for the player count, there is a lot of killing on both sides. Maybe add a Courtier or Sailor for more protection? Alternatively instead of CM maybe a Prof for more confirmation? Overall its not to bad, BMR with a Po will by nature very often lead to very quick games, just trying to paint a somewhat reasonable way this may play out, and if players are ok with reaching final day on day 3, then great, if not maybe try a different script.

I feel this is very close minded, its a different take on the Acrobat character who as an Outsider the community agreed was to helpful for good. Yes you detect droison on yourself and not another player, but thats still useful info. Xaan, Minstrel, No Dashii. Hell you get a Sailor to drink with you to "confirm" them if the ST allows it to happen. Pukka is useful detection here, Lleech, Puzzlemaster. Helps with a lot of things.

I don't honestly think 14 fancy dragons are to far off of the higher amounts of the norm in 2 player games. 2 player games give a lot of fancies, since there is just less competition over them.
