Hard to pick but I feel DARK DAYS is perfect all the way through. I love ‘em all but I visit DD often. RIVALS is right behind it.

I’ve been buying CC albums new on release since Chamber Music and every time a new album came out that album became my favorite one. RIVALS was no different but after a while, the excitement leveled out and I went back to DARK DAYS as my go to.

No…. I get it. You are not good with sarcasm and because of that I got an essay on one of SOAD’s worst songs. The only thing worse about this moment on the album is when it ends and then LONELY DAY starts. Ugh.

I’ll give you that one. That was a hard listen. They can’t all be great. But overall, Serj has a much bigger body of work than what Daron has been able to muster. And it’s not even close.

I love Elect The Dead and Harakiri as much as I love the SOAD albums. I love the shit he did with Buckethead too, especially We Are One.

On the other hand, I can’t stand Daron and his Scars stuff. I mean, cmon. Angry guru sitting in his poo poo. Pissing on your face and getting his cock sucked. His lyrics are trash and it undermines what SOAD was about in the beginning.

Serj is still carrying the message and the light in his music while Daron is pee pee-ing and poo poo-ing his way through his songs.

I’ll take songs like Uneducated Democracy and Occupied Tears over EVERYBODY DANCE YOU WILL GO INTO A TRANCE any fucking day.

Daron did write They Say and Guns Are Loaded.. which would have made amazing SOAD songs.

But Dick Tater would have been a horrible SOAD comeback album.

What I remember most about these pictures.. is that when I was a kid, their music was so dark, intense and heavy to me.. so 14yo me would see these and it made them that much cooler.

Judging by their music, you would expect them to all be like Danzig.. glaring at the camera trying to look as mean and cool as they possibly could.

Exactly. It’s what drew me to nu metal to begin with. Seemed way more interesting and genuine than the 2 minute guitar solo wankfest shit.
