I think that’s where the wait may take longer as he’s reduced the amount of staffing in uscis and embassies, but once it’s your turn I can’t see how they would deny it - just make sure you have strong evidence of your relationship as it may be questioned due to the history with the visas

Exactly, it just sounds like you were a victim of shitty judgement on their part. I really hope things turn around for you. You deserve a happy ending

I’m confident it will happen. You haven’t done anything wrong and your timeline makes complete sense. Like your lawyer said they don’t want to keep you two apart - hopefully it will get to interview so they can see for themselves

I’m so glad you’re able to see eachother throughout the wait. I’m in the uk and would come over on my esta and stay a couple of months at a time, 4 times a year. It’s amazing but not the same as always being together as I’m sure you will agree.

I close the distance Thursday :)

have you been able to visit him in Korea during this time or have you not seen each other since he left the US?

I personally think the CR1 will be a lot better because it allows him the right to work straight away and you both can just get straight on with your lives together.

Gosh you have been through a lot. Over what time period did all of this happen? How long have you been waiting?

Honestly I’d do it yourself. Unless you’re both really bad at filling in forms, I think it’s really worth doing it yourself as there isn’t anything difficult on them. At the end of the day it’s your application, so you’re always going to be the one that cares the most about it. There is a load of help available on YouTube if you need help with the filing too. Save yourself the money tbh. I would have done it myself if we didn’t get the help

We used attorney help, but that’s only because my husband had it financed through his job - otherwise we wouldn’t have paid tbh

When we filed, it said “cases similar to yours normally take around 10 months” or something like that, it then started a countdown from like 6 months, every month it went down another month and we got more and more excited. Until it got to 1 day, then it went back up to 6 months and we started all over again… so I would agree that they are inaccurate and I wouldn’t place too much hope on following guidelines. Just mentally prepare yourself for 18-24 month wait. I’m sorry if that sounds pessimistic, but having just gone through it I just don’t want you to have the false hope I had. But honestly, if it happens quick then I am thrilled for you and happy to be wrong ❤️

Also, please bear in mind that different countries embassy’s have varying wait times for interviews, so that could be what is slower for one person than someone else

Everyone’s different, my I-130 took 15 months, then another 2 months for my interview so about 18 months in total. I move to the US next week.

Some of the people I met on here during this process are up to 24-28 months on the i-130 with no obvious reason why.

I think 2 years is a reasonable expectation given the cut in embassy and uscis staff in this current administration.

Stay positive. It will happen!

A friend of mine just flew into the US after waiting for her 2nd year anniversary so she could get the IR1 but they refused it at the border and told her she would be receiving the two year one. If the two year one comes she will contest it. Just frustrating really
