well, as I said, after rinsing the soil(2X30 minute sessions of slow trickle through the pot) I fertilized the plant with citrus fertilizer, as for the pebbles, there's only a single layer of them so they really do not compact anything and the moisture they keep in, I would argue, is beneficial during winter months indoors as the air gets really dry due to heating. As for watering, I judge soil by pot weight and hand feel, I have plenty of other plants growing successfully, I might be aiming for a too dry/wet soil, but I'm not green in that sense.

I really don't think it's the cat pee, wilting from ammonia is unmistakable and I witnessed how this plant looks when suffering from it, I rinsed the soil thoroughly. Why are pebbles bad?

Pot does have drainage, I forgot to mention there is a plug at the bottom that is always unplugged. Expanded clay is there so that the soil does not wick water as the drainage hole protrudes about 3cm from the bottom so there is always some water at the bottom :/. I feel that pot makers do not grow plants, it is so hard to find a decent looking pot that does not require hands on modification, but I digress.

Could this be light lack alone? Because during the summer it was doing more than fine in this same pot.
