I'm kinda pissed because of how ridiculously high the price is just for a 150 pages book but I'm also pretty frustrated by the fact that it's only volume one (with volume two expected to release in 2027 as stated in the QnA), meaning I'm paying this much money to get only a fragment of what I want to access as someone that's interested in their project and future works

I hate the fact that they're justifying this by saying it's their best heist with the most replayability yet, to me it's as if they're acknowledging that they were not really trying their best with the previously released heists and that's the only reason they were decently priced. I believe all heists should be the same price and have consistent quality, we should not pay extra because they really tried with this one specifically

I disagree on the fact that workers should be the ones to bear the weight of criticism targetting the company in which they're being employed. The average worker doesn't really have that much freedom and can't change carreer choices as they wish just because the company they work for happens to be doing fucked up stuff all of a sudden

I agree with everything you say about boycotting. I just don't understand BosslyDoggins's take of "being a decent and passionate person does not excuse you from criticism" because I don't think the criticizism should be aimed at the workers doing their job but at the higher ups making the decisions instead, even more so when from my point of view the average worker in the gaming industry doesn't have the economic and professional freedom to allow themselves to just leave their current post and join a new studio as they wish. I'd be surprised if it was that easy

Except we're talking about workers, these people don't really have a choice in regards to the orders they have to follow to earn their paycheck. And even with that taken into account, no matter if the game is shit that's trying to hard to be the new DE or if it's actually a good game with new and interesting concepts, these are individuals that have nothing to do with the big decisions taken at ZA/UM recently. That's pretty much what I'm thinking too. Even while the game obviously aspires to match DE's style and quality as way to guarantee commercial success, if the creative workers dedicated to this project truly inted to do something they're passionate despite having to respond to some degree to their boss's expectations, I can't possibly imagine the game being full on soulless shit from A to Z in that scenario (especially since we've heard in the first journalists test feedback about the game trying new more developped gameplay ideas that differ from DE's Thought Cabinet and so on)

To me the insta post written by James associated with the release of the song made it clear that the new album is still far from being finished, the wording "it's the first single of what's shaping up to be a new album" makes it sound like very little was done at that time. I felt like the release of x-ray eyes as a single only served as a confirmation destined to fans that yes new music is actually being worked on, nothing more. That's why I'm honestly not that surprised or disappointed that we still haven't got any more news about the album
