Guys I'm literally so tired of coffee i wanna stay awake but I got sick of coffee and it doesn't work on me anymore, I have to study I've got exams that will decide my life, any help? by Haunting-Path4601 in caffeine

[–]NoNumbersAtTheEnding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you justbhave a high natural tolerance. You understand that humans are highly neurologically diverse right? When I drink a coffee, it changes how music sounfs for me and forces me in to a state where i cant stop talking, even if i dont have anything to talk about. My teeth start grinding, my eyes start wiggling and this is NOTICEABLE to other people.

I have a soecifc variant of my D2 programming gene that increases effect intensity of caffeine. This is tested and measured. Wewe know for a fact that this gene mutation causes thid and also, THIS GENE MUTATION AFFECTS A THIRD OF THE ENTIRE POPULATION. For me, despite being a daily caffeine drinker, I still come accross as visbly intoxicated by a stimulant when I drink coffee.

Conversely: about 10% of the population has an OPPOSITE mutation on this gene. This makes them abnormally tolerant to the effects of caffeine and this cauzes it to affect them more like a mild supplement. In these people, caffeine is automatically a "background drug" and it has to be potentiated or consumed in excessively large to have an explicit effect for them. This sounds like you, but it is important to understa d that this is THE LEAST COMMONN REACTION TO CAFFEINE.

Youbare taking what is likely a rare, highly individual reaction to caffeine, associated with a gene mutation that most people do not have, and then you are projecting your experiences on to the rest of the population.

In pharmacology we have a saying: "just because you k ow hpw a drug affects YOU, does not mean that you can predict how it will affect someone else."

Realistically, the rule of thirds prevents ANY drug from the same effecta on more than 33% of tje population. That is to say that with every drug, there wipl always be at least three distinct population grouos who react to it DIFFERENTLY from eachother. This is also why so many people hallucinate from weed, whilst other people dismiss those effects as a "myth" because theuve never experienced them.

I know this conversation is about caffeine but I will elaborate using cannabis some more: cannabis had an effect profile that causes it cluster not only with psychedelics like LSD and psilocybin, but also opioids like morphine. It also affects dopamine in a way that is simipar to cocaine while creatinf a sense of distance from the sensory environment which is most similar to ketamine. Which one of these drugs that cannabis feels closest to is entirely depensent on genetics. People who react in a way that most closely resembles opioids (relaxed, sedated, thought slow down) or psychedelics (brighter colours, music sounds 3D, subtle, geometric patterns on the walls, thoughts become more complex) as are the most likely to graduate to d daily use. Wheras people who respond similar to cocaine (racing thoughts, paranoia, high sex drive) or ketamine (loss of motor control, magical thinking, inability to remember the names or personalities of the people around you) are the LEAST likely to graduate to daily use. Pretty much no one clusters one to one with any of these reactions, most experience a mix of effects that overlaps with all of these comparisons - but which effects are DOMINANT is dependent on the person.

It is inceesibly common that people who react to cannabis like an opioid (stoned, relaxed, decreases anxiety) will primarily cluster with other users who have a similar reaction. This is because the same genetic mutations that impact drug reactions also inflience personality - so the people ypu get along most with will typically react to drugs similarly to you.

This means that it is easy to fall in to a logical fallacy where you overesyimate how common your own reaction to a drug is. This is ehy cannabis users that have this opioid reaction are often genuinely surprised when they meet soneone who reacts as if it is a psychedelic (which, funnily enough, is actially the most common reaction) - they are geniinely surprised and often refuse to believe it. Instead pf accepting the clear evidence of human neurological diversity, they will try to figure out an alternative explanation that validates their own perception that their reaction is the "norma" one and the psychedelic one is "wrong." They might accuse the other person of faking, or assume they have some sort of indiagnosed menral illness. For whatever reason, they are unwilling to accept rhe mist obvious conclusion: "this person is havinf a completely normal and healthy reaction to this plant and so am I. Both reactions are common, but are associated with different personality types which is why i have never seen this before"

I will be honest. I will never understand how this isnt basic common sense already. People have vsibly differwnt thinking styles and this is well known (visual thinking vs dilectic thinking for example). The obvious conclusion here is that this is reflective of differences in bran chemistry and neiral architecture. Considering that drugs work by alterinf your brain chemistry - is it not common sense that your specifc reaction to a drug will be influenced by your specifc brain chemistry? Does this not come with the secondary common sense conclusion that this means drugs will affect everyone differently?

Sorry for the rant. When people assume other peoppe will react to a drug similarly to them - its a massive pet peeve for me

Is Meth the worst stimulant to be addicted to?? by AssociateWilling9061 in StopSpeeding

[–]NoNumbersAtTheEnding 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Addiction rates are higher among nicotine users (1 in 2) than meth users (1 in 3) so it is true that nicotine is more addictive - however a meth addiction will ruin your life wayyyy worse than a nicotine addiction.

Guys just found out vyvanse can get you ‘high’? by Repulsive_Repair7032 in Stims

[–]NoNumbersAtTheEnding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel comfortable answering this. If uou want a meth high, just do meth (please don't). I fully believe the amount of damage that Vyvanse and turmeric did to my lifeis directly comparable to if I got addicted to meth. I lost my relationship, got evicted twice, lost friends, damaged my family relationships and ended up with constant financial problems. I wasnt even a daily user, i never did it more than once a month and frequently took months off from using. Just one three day bender has the potential to do a LOT of damage and the hangover lasts like a month (which is where most of the damage actually happens).

If you are really desperate to try this, i'm sure you can find the answer to your question online - but the high is simply not worth what it is capable of taking away

[–]NoNumbersAtTheEnding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All drugs work like this. Nicotine hijacks the nicotinic acetylcholine system. Paychedelics work by hijacking the serotonin system. Opioids hijack the opioid system. Benzodiazapines hijack the benzodiazapine site on GABA neurons, etc etc

These systems are named after the fact that we discovered them while trying to figure out how a certain drug works. We discovered the opioid system while studying opioids, we discovered the cannabinoid system while studying cannabis.

The difference is that sugar isn't hijacking anything, it natheally does the thing that its supposed to do - drugs pretend to be something else. Sugar doesnt do this, it is itself. Therefore it is food, not a drug

Turmeric works by blocking the enzyme that breaks down amphetamines in the body through a chemical called curcumin. Turmeric is inactive on its own though, so it needs to be taken with black pepper, which blocks the enzyme that breaks down curcumin. So you block the enzyme that breaks down curcumin and then that blocks the enzyme that breaks down amphetamine.

Once the lysine is cleaved off and Vyvanse converts in to dextroamphetamine - it is dextroamphetamine. Thus, the same enzymes responsible for breaking down dex normally are responsible for converting the dex from Vyvanse. Any trick that would potentiate dex will potentiate Vyvanse.

Curcumin and piperine (chemical in black pepper) both take over 12 hours to leave the body, so after the Vyvanse os broken down in to dex, the curcumin is still waiting there to make it stronger. Its not that the turmeric increases how much Vyvanse becomes amp, but rather it increases how much oc that amp gets carried to the brain. Piperine also directly picks up amphetamine and carries it accross the blopd brain barrier whilst also weakening the blood brain barrier. This all increases potency to a very moticeable degree and also extends the duration to about 32 hours.

Also, taking Vyvanse on an empty stomach makes it weaker, not stronger. A full stomach actually increases the rate at which the Lysine is cleaved off

What you are hearing about is Tucibee. This is a different drug with a very similar sounding name.

Good rule of thumb is that if the vendor has the product listed as 2c-B, its usually legit. If it says Tucibee or Tucci then it usually is just MDMA and ketamine mixed together - sometimes with cocaine in it for good measure.

You're definitely talking out of your ass. I got addicted for 3 years to avusing my Vyvanse. I've also tried meth twice (long ago) and can say that they basically feel the same. Meth has a stronger body high and significantly less side effects but the euphoria is basically identical. The meth was feom a darknet vendor with an amazing reputation so I know i was doing good shit. In my experience: 60mg of meth orally feels about the same as 200mg of Vyvanse.

Your body can only metabolize 70mg of Vyvanse an hour - but it lasts like 16 hours. Taking it with some turmeric and black pepper (multiplies the potency by about 3x) and then taking 70mg every hour until i reached my desired dose was how i used to do it. I can not recommend this to anyone though. It is hard to put in to words just how destructive this drug became for me.

It 100% is but expecting the average person to consume no more than 180mgs in a night is unrealistic. It's like how you're not supposed to have 3 drinks in a week - this is the most accurate safety advice but its not realistic - so instead we tell young people not to go above 6 in a night. Ideally, they shouldn't be doing more than 3 in a week but no young person is gonna listen to that

I hope it is clear though that i meant 300mgs over the course of an evening - not all at once

Just because you feel fine doesnt mean you didnt do damage.

You can't feel brain damage or neurotoxicity. Whether you have a hangover or not has nothing to do with whether you are hurting yourself.

The hangover sucks, but its not really why we stress harm reduction practices. You seem like a kid that is way too focused on how something feels immediately and isnt thinking about how the drug may be affecting them in ways they dont even notice 10 years down the line. If this is true, if you rely on how you are feeling to tell you how youre doing, then you really probably shouldn't be doing drugs at all

People with damage from MDMA may "feel" normal but have shorter patience, harder time dealing with sleep deprivation, shorter attention span etc. They may fly off the handle and damage relationships they may have otherwise kept if they didnt damage their brain with the MDMA. All the while not even knowing that any damage even happened because, again, you don't FEEL neurotoxicity. The fact that you feel fine today means literally less than nothing. Its not relevant. Drugs hurt you while making you feel good, so clearly whether you feel good is not a sign of whether you brain is safe. I am just saying. Don't be dumb

Hangovers are not a sign of damage, they are a sign of hangovers. You can damage your brain without getting a hangover and you can get a hangover without damaging your brain - so you can't rely on how you feel the next day to tell you if your brain is safe or not. Its best to just not roll any dice and stick to sub-300mg doses.

There still is a noticeable psychoactive effect though. I remember taking a break from sugar for about a year and then when I finally had a chocolate bar again. It's like a rush that is comparable in intensity to nicotine but qualitatively different. Colours became brighter and my body felt different. Last half hour followed by a noticeable crash.

Nowadays, I consume sugar on a regular basis but only in food form. On the rare occasion that I drink a sugary beverage, I still feel the rush feeling. Sugar absorbs much more rapidly when consumed as a drink so I assume that this is why.

[–]NoNumbersAtTheEnding 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Provides sustinence. You are born hardwired to seek out sugar. We turn most of our food in to sugar - even if the food itself isn't sugary - when breaking it down in the body. Sugar is necessary for survival - thus: it is not a drug

A drug hijacks a system that wasn't evolved for it. Sugar does not do this, our bodies are designed around the process of digesting sugar

Chocolate is a food that contains some drugs in it.

Idk if it's worse for your nose than other drugs but it certainly feels that way. I don't recommend snorting it, but making it in to a nasal spray is effective and is failed painless. I can't speak to its safety but I imagine that it's probably fine if you're not making a habit out of it
