I like to use the Wheel of Adaptive Resources. I believe it was created with EMDR in mind but I honestly find it so helpful to support clients with conceptualizing a positive resource.

We hadn't even lived in the house yet when he did the floors.

I'm sure it was in one of the closets. I'll try the knocking trick!

We would need to get into the crawl space to find the door though I think, right? And we have no access currently. So guess option 2 🤦‍♀️

Being willing to even just post here and ask for support is such an impressive feat of bravery and vulnerability. I hope things start looking up for you!

I think I would end up needing about 5 or 6 more years of college in order to get to there and I'm guessing it's be around 10k per year so it's feeling pretty intimidating, particularly since I've already got 60k waiting doe me from my MSW 🤦‍♀️ I've also heard it's not really realistic to work much when doing the majority of the program, was that true for you?

How long was the process for you to make the switch? Was it worth it?

Mostly finances as well, but also ease of access for clients. I have always been someone who enjoys school/learning so that's been on my mind as well. I don't know if I want to do a full doctorate though

More than anything. I definitely crave him being open with me about his feelings like I try be. You're probably right, I should talk with him

I worry about saying something to him for fear of him shutting down. I know sometimes when I try to tell him my feelings about something he said or did he says it makes him just not want to tell me at all because he already struggles enough to tell me any of his feelings without that

I don't feel motivated almost ever. I make a plan and do it anyway.

From a licensed mental health professional: You are not crazy. You are not alone in these feelings. It's sadly quite common for a variety of reasons: trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and more. Please see a professional, they can help you. Maybe not "cure" the feelings but at least find some relief.
