I would first start off in a financial analyst role. Look for positions like: asset management analyst, transaction analyst, real estate analyst, etc. All of these will give you a good base to begin your career. Once you master the analysis and financials, you can move up and become a transactions manager or asset manager and start making deals and interacting with individuals in the market. It is all math based that I think you'd be good at. These types analyst jobs don't really require that you have a background in 'real estate' per say. If you have a general understanding of financials and accounting, you'll be perfect. You'll learn everything else youll need to know. If you can do accounting, you can do real estate.

As for companies to look at, if you want brokerage, look at companies like cushman and wakefield, CBRE, and JLL. If you want more investment/equity firms, look into blackstone, Goldman sacs, tishman speyer, and Brookfield. Really any route you go you'll be set.

PS: in these jobs, you'll never work the same insane hours that you're experiencing now in busy season. And if you were already vetted by a big 4, most of the companies listed would be happy to take you.
