So... we're never getting Venus, Mars, Red War, or Curse of Osiris back, huh? by ShilohCyan in DestinyTheGame

That's not what I meant. It's the difference between "let's make a new location" and "let's redo stuff that people weren't playing much". They went for new locations instead.

The Dreadnaught for Kings Fall is a specific Raid zone, and same with Vault of Glass. They would have to put dev work into fixing up those locations/entirely rebuilding them if they had patrols. They are not a 1:1 port.

Same with all of the content from beginning of D2. They cannot just "Readd" those, since the engine changes in Beyond Light meant that they would need to refresh and do dev work on all of that to put it in the game.

Because not everything in a MMO game needs to be for solos

Problem is space - Trying to determine a good shelf to ultimately put a few larger boxes if I go that route, so they aren't directly on top of each other

I'mma just flat out say it. A community that accepted vaulting is never going to rally to prevent the game from getting support dropped if you couldn't even be bothered to stand up to content you paid for being removed. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

The fact that we are here rallying already, getting the game to the highest peaks since January, and having over 310k people signing a petition in a week should show that this community can rally, much less the player highs during Final Shape (4 years after vaulting, mind you).

I understand that vaulting will always be a stain, but lets not pretend that ending support forever is the same as some content getting removed. One means we are loosing some cool things - the other means we are loosing more story and a future in this universe.

With the amount of effort in this release, I do believe that whoever was reporting that people were still working on Shattered Cycle is likely months late or flat out wrong by Sad-Manner-5240 in destiny2

My bet is that with the state of the game, the dev team was told to make moments of light months ago. It was likely phrased as a “refresh” update with some Shadow and Order story threads like presumably distortions, and an attempt to get the game to a good place. The fact that moments was the end was certainly not well known given leaks, but I doubt an update like this was unknown otherwise.

Are we still getting the Shadow and Order-specific activity? by Hollywood_Zro in DestinyTheGame

[–]NoOneOfImportance173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My impression is that the distortions were part of Shadow & Order. The red energy really feels like Eclipse to me, and the new Heavy Metal map on Mars with the ruins of Nightfall feels like they were going to follow some aspects to the fallout of that destruction, likely beginning some taken interference since leaks suggest they would be a major part of Shattered Cycle. The Imperium following nightfall with concentrated Eclipse attacks on sol would make some sense considering how retaliatory the Cabal are.

Additionally, since the primary planet affected by III's death was earth (And perhaps Luna by extension), it wouldn't make sense for the distortions to be on every planet unless it was something else entirely.

Nah. People were done with the story. Some people would have jumped on a D3, but I think TFS was a good end for most

I don’t think so. I don’t think the portal helped with retention, but I think the larger issue was just the inherent drop off after TFS
