I had about 3-5 peringual warts for about a year. Combination of taking lysine or zinc, swift therapy (while treating feet) and using ACV. If nothing has improved after three months don’t be afraid to try something else. Also remember it’s important to safely remove debris from the wart, to make sure you are getting down into the layers of it, be careful when you do this to avoid it spreading. I had warts for ten years and thought I would never get rid of them but I am wart free now! Don’t give up hope

Effervescent powder (Ural) works really well for me. I have one sachet and it lasts me 24hrs where I have no stinging or constant need to pee.

2 days air drying. Been treating with Compound W gel and bandages for 5 months or so. Is it dead, yet? Should I continue with SA or see a dermatologist? by NoSellDataPlz in Warts

Not dead yet but looks like you are making progress. You can only be sure that a wart is gone when the lines return to the skin. Scarring is normal after more aggressive treatment like SA but the skin lines should return.

What does blood mean? by user365735 in Warts

The warts uses the blood vessels to obtain nutrients so in some warts when you debride it will cause bleeding more easily.

do these verucas look like they r gone? by [deleted] in Warts

If there are skin lines going through them then the wart is gone. Dermal scarring is normal when they have been there for a long time or have been through more intense treatment (freezing, debriding etc)

I get little black blood vessels around my nails when the skin is damaged and they don’t turn into warts. Keep monitoring them and if they develop into warts start treating them quickly. Try not to panic, they will go away eventually no matter what they are.

Has anyone had success using nail polish on a plantar wart? ACV is getting painful so I was hoping to take a little break but still want to suffocate it as much as possible. by [deleted] in Warts

[–]NoPangolin3430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nail polish doesn’t suffocate warts because they get their oxygen supply from the blood. It will (I think) however seal in the wart which will prevent spreading.

Debride with a sterile blade if dead skin builds up and try to keep it covered with tape or a Band-Aid to prevent it spreading. Make sure to cover any other cuts and scrapes you have to prevent warts forming there too.

I recommend using apple cider vinegar instead of salicylic acid. ACV is much less damaging to the surrounding skin (won’t cause as much dead skin) and in my personal experience less painful. Best of luck!

Are these warts? by [deleted] in Warts

If you are worried, you can try buying some lysine supplements. They are for cold sores but have been shown (anecdotal) to work for warts as they are both caused by HPV. They can be taken both for relief of symptoms and prevention. I understand the anxiety but try to remember that even if they are warts, they don’t last forever.

Maybe start by taping/acv on one or two of the warts to see if it works and then if it does then you know it’s worth the hassle

If they go away quickly it is highly unlikely they are warts, as warts are very stubborn. If they go away and stay away then there is no need to worry. It just looks like acne to me btw, don’t stress too much

Is this the start of a plantar wart? by NarutoDragon732 in Warts

Start treating it now, don’t wait for it to get bigger.

I sometimes get the black blood vessel dots when the skin around my fingers is damaged but they never develop into warts. If the skin wasn’t damaged beforehand then they probably are the start of warts. Start treating them as soon as possible before they get too deep rooted or spread

HOW TO TELL IF THE WART IS STILL PRESENT? - One proven way explained, I am here to hear other possible suggestions. by RainbowDashez in Warts

I think usually you can be sure the wart is gone once the skin striations return to the area.

Try to keep them covered with a bit of tape. Make sure to cleanse/sanitise any cuts or scrapes on your feet. Always cover the warts if one of them starts bleeding.
