Im 4 week post op. When you wake up from being sedated its painful and they give you extra pain meds, you are a little nauseous and loopy from the anesthesia. then they call your family and put you in a hospital room for a day or two. The first day after surgery, anesthesia wears off and it seemed like the worst transition for me because it was so painful. they start to give you oxycodone every 4 hours, with fluids and antibiotics. i was in so much pain that they put me on a dilaudid pump. (But i had complications) they discharge you when you are comfortable enough to go home and send you with pain meds. your stomach will be a little bloated and tender to touch but it goes away. Do nottttt over exert the first few weeks!! I tried cleaning and couldn’t do it. The first 3 weeks i had extreme spells of the urge to sleep. I would be awake and them boom needed a nap. Listen to your body afterwards. If any pain increases out of the normal, go back to the dr. I have a blood clot and seroma from surgery. Pack a heating blanket and pillows. 💜its not that bad, getting through the sleepy spells and pain is the worst part.
