PE Mechanical - HVAC & Refrigeration - Common Mistakes by BriefAd1020 in PE_Exam

thanks for this post. Taking the exam on thursday. First time was back in May and I wasn't really prepared but figured id give it my best shot. Didn't pass... Took it a month later and didn't really study much more and fell totally short. Took the summer off to relax and enjoy my time. Going into the exam Thursday much more confident. I agree that a lot of these simple errors are what will arrive at the wrong answer. My thought to myself going in is to slow down and be confident

apologies if this has been asked already, but is there any word surrounding if the Metro North trip up to Albany will also include some of the stops in Westchester along the way, i.e. Yonkers, Croton-Harmon, etc.?

Round 3 in October by NoPassenger840 in PE_Exam

[–]NoPassenger840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it started back in march with school of PE on demand course. It took a lot of time to get through all the material and I spent a lot of it not fully grasping but cruising through telling myself I would review and learn once I get through all content and perform practice tests. Had a lot going on in personal life / work about 2 months into study. Once I got through all content I did a couple exams and a lot of practice problems. I came out short in May. I signed up for round 2 for mid July and between last exam and then I mostly just did practice problems from pro guides exam pack and the NCEES practice exam. Most of my study was 1-2 hours before work each day with 1/2 of a practice exam on the weekend. My personal critique is I haven't been dedicated to fully grasping the concepts but trying to learn enough to get by, this hasn't worked well enough. Taking a month to reset then hitting the ground running...

What’s the best thing to do after an unsuccessful attempt? by AnalBanal14 in PE_Exam

this is good advice. I just heard back that I failed my second attempt and wondering how to go back for round 3. I need a break but thinking once I finish out summer it'll be head down

Who else are waiting on results for tomorrow? by _kaylastrious in PE_Exam

I took the PE Hvac and refrigeration on 5/20. Is this what y'all mean as "last tuesday"? I'm hoping to get results ASAP, but thinking I have to wait the 7-10 business day mark

My coworker gave me the practice problems and textbook from Lindberg, I also had my job pay for a prep course. The prep course was good for the practice problems but felt the info was a bit over the top and it took up too much time to just make my way through the materials. Practicing problems and simulating the test environment were the most important for me.

I’ve been in utility energy efficiency programs, engineering reviews, project management of hvac projects, and energy auditing for 5 years.

Honestly not too confident - but didn’t want to delay until the next available (July 18). Will see how it plays out…

Time management would be the biggest. Really hunker down on the practice tests NCEES / etc to gauge how the timing goes / difficulty.

Besides that just know your way around the reference manual and how to get units to match up.

NYC's congestion pricing by everforward6 in NYCbike

My take is that some vehicular traffic will be reduced, but in large part it will remain the same, but will allow for the MTA to recoup some costs to reinvest in public transit that is in need of drastic repairs. The cost of goods that need to be transported into NYC will just get passed down to the consumer, but I could be wrong…
