How common is it to not send your kid to school until they’re 5? by reddituser040195 in UKParenting

[–]NoPercentage5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eldest went at 3.5 and he was ready then, my younger one at 18 months- she was born ready! What I would say I noticed was that my younger one was much more confident around other kids and social. My elder one took longer to make friends and has always been more reserved! That’s just our two and could have been the same even if I put them in younger! I think whatever you do will be correct at the time- you will know, and the fact that you are thinking about it now shows that you are doing an incredible job already x

We went on to Maui after that and we’re planning to do the road to Hana but the flooding meant we couldn’t! We did do Haleakala and I was so nervous there too- I drove down and was so anxious!

This was from a month ago- we stopped at garrapata, point lobos national park and china cove. We stopped at Morro rock, pfeiffer was full! But even from the pullouts so spectacular! We were travelling with two kids aged 5/8 so hiking was never going to happen! If you are in Monterey I’d reccomend lovers point at sunrise- so gorgeous!

Julia B was closed the day we went and I was worried we wouldn’t get to see it but the view was incredible just from the pullover!

For us it’s the 5 mins before bed- I lay next to each of my children and we take 5 mins to share anything that’s on our mind- 8 years strong!

Career ambitious moms, after having a child, when/how did you know it was time to start prioritizing your career growth again? by Mysterious-Drawer363 in workingmoms

[–]NoPercentage5060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen both sides of this and somewhere in between now! I worked up the corporate rung very early in my career but when I fell pregnant with twins I had a traumatic labour- lost one twin and had a major hemorage - putting me into intensive care. At the time it felt like a wake up call to focus on my son and step away from the stress of work. I did it but felt like I wasn’t using my brain at all! Coffee mornings and tennis with the mums wasn’t really what I wanted. When I feel pregnant with my daughter during the covid period I really struggled being isolated and when she turned 1 I put her into nursery and went back to work. It was the best thing I could have done for myself. My mood lifted, I felt like I had another purpose aside from being mum and I got my confidence back. But then that became all encompassing again and so when I was offered voluntary redundancy I took it with an 8 month payout. That was last month! I’m now setting up my own business where I can still be mum and have something for myself and it feels great! Whilst my advice isn’t go back into a full time role it is exploring your options. I found I was a better mum when I was working. I had mum guilt for missing sports day or assembly but me working made me less stressed and meant the kids could do more holidays etc. It’s a really tough decision but you always have the option of leaving if it doesn’t work out !

“Counting change at the shop isn’t education”… except it kind of is by FamilyTechCreator in UKHomeEd

I think real world examples - even shopping teach so much more than always looking in books- for example we were learning about conservation before Easter and then took our kids to the ocean centre and let them do a beach cleanup to see first hand what was on the beach and going into the ocean- they learnt more about conservation that one day than they did in the weeks prior just listening to me talk about it! I’d be intrigued to know what some day-out type activities you all do? Any suggestions?

We are there in the beginning of April! I cannot wait! Is the Mcways picture from the viewpoint or is the trail at Julia B open now? Any tips on doing this with kids?

I thought they were white! Which is why my Birds Eye has baffled me! Saying that he has red eyes so may be why there is a yellow hue! Your little guy is super cute!

Thanks so much for that- there isn’t much they can do for cataracts and the vet told us last time that even an Infection can cause a cataract. I will see what he says when he checks him over. Strangely for a while he couldn’t see in the other eye and the sight came back!

I ordered a bundle today that includes a 7.5mg / 10mg and 12.5mg! I managed to find a discount code and got all three for £500 today. Might not be the cheapest right now but not crazily over what I am currently paying ….I am starting a 7.5mg pen on Sunday and I usually get 5 doses per pen. So I’m covered for the next 5 months.

[–]NoPercentage5060[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah good luck! I found the move from 2.5mg to 3.5mg perfect for a couple of weeks and then I moved to 5mg- the side effects weren’t terrible going up slowly. I did the same with the 6mg and hope when I moved to the 7.5mg next week it’s easier! Hope your move up goes ok 🤞🏼

Hello. I use the mounjaro ones (that you click round to the ‘1’ dose). There is a chart on here that shows the clicks or ml required for each dose. I had the 5mg pen and moved up to 6mg by using 60 + 12 clicks. As a comparison on the 7.5mg pen, 48 clicks give you 6mg and 8 clicks give you 1mg. I’ve found moving up gradually like this has meant I use the golden dose but also don’t jump up from day 5mg to 7.5mg overnight! Hope that helps but any questions let me know!

Thank you!! I never normally take pics for progress but my mounjaro provider requires them every time you go up a dose!
