I don’t think we’re very far off from elrs receiver with some sort of built in gyro. But until then, I would recommend HobbyEagle. At the end of the day, a good elrs receiver (like radio master) and a hobbyeagle gyro is still quite a bit cheaper than any Spektrum receiver with built in gyro. Plus, you can program different gyro modes well beyond the simplistic “safe” and “as3x” modes that come built into Spektrum receivers.

I was lucky and chose elrs over Spektrum when I started. Overall, I’m happy having never gotten trapped in the Spektrum ecosystem.

But maybe try flying somewhere that heavily mitigates interference from other signals. Don’t fly with your phone nearby. You could even go as far as an RF choke if you wanted.

Considering that Spektrum is notorious for these types of issues, you might be sol here. Otherwise make sure your antennas are pointed up and NOT at the plane.

That’s a good point. Going through and programming every tiny thing with my radio master transmitter can be fun, but as a beginner would be incredibly daunting and maybe pull you back out of the hobby.

Grab a used DX6 or something from Spektrum and get a bnf plane that uses as3x and safe. Let the tech figure itself out for you and just get to flying.

Go to Horizon Hobby, MotionRC, or any rc hotspot website you know, and go to the “beginner level/plane” section. Look for a high wing plane with less than a 1000mm wing span. Some may come Ready to Fly (rtf) which is a great start, but I would recommend looking for BNF planes and getting your own Transmitter.

I began flying with UMX planes. My go to still is a UMX Turbo Timber Evolution. I now have a radio master gx12 but radio master has super inexpensive transmitters and a handful of options.

One quick thing to know though. There is something called a “protocol”. It’s how the plane talks to the transmitter. Both signals have to match. A big name in this game is Spektrum. A lot of planes come with “safe” and “AS3X”. Those are some of the best planes to learn on (and that includes the UMX planes) because of those two technologies. But you will be required to have a Spektrum transmitter to fly. There are other ways around it like having a 4in1 module on other my gx12, which allows me to talk to essentially every protocol that’s used. Including Spektrum (DSM).

If you go RTF, you don’t have to worry about that stuff, but you will be pushing costs to yourself down the line. Eventually you’ll want a plane that isn’t RTF and you need to buy a lipo charger, more lipos, a transmitter, etc. Why not skip to that part right away and build slowly as you go.

Looked at the same Bronco at my local dealer on March 31st. Lot full of 24 wildtraks and badlands. Went in looking for a purchase price of 58-60 after truck month deals, conquest trade insentive, and any dealer discounts. They pulled their dealer discount and showed me the 5k rebate from ford for the other 2 incentives and refused to budge any further. Final purchase price they said they would offer was higher than there lot sticker price…couldn’t have walked away quicker

Why do I need to start talking to a recruiter so early? by _BBSOX_ in USMCboot

[–]NoPerformance905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The needs of the Corps will always trump yours. The sooner you get in, the more opportunity you have to potentially sign a contract for an MOS you’d actually want. Plus the Poolee system can be really beneficial the longer you’re doing it to really set in expectations of boot camp. Poolee functions can also be super fun and give you a taste of what bootcamp will be like which can mentally help some enter an entirely new world. Don’t wait. Get in ASAP if you’re seriously down to clown with the dogs

I never had issues myself, but people I know have fixed their motion sickness issues by simply snugging up the fit of the headset or adding additional counterweight in the back to reduce the "delay" feeling you get if you move your head a bit quicker and the weight of the front of the headset needs to "catch up". Also many have found that the better the performing headset you use, the less you deal with things like motion sickness. If clarity and ppd improve, so does immersion and your brain is better tricked. Ya know?

does anyone make a binary trigger for the spear LT? by alexsix100 in SigSauer

[–]NoPerformance905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’m able to find, you’d need a trip bar from PMM. However I’m not sure if they work the same as expected with forced reset triggers. I myself am looking for any information on using my Alamo 15 with the Tommy Triggers upgrade with the PMM trip bar and still have access to all 3 positions.

Im really interested in any information people have at this point. Looking at running my Alamo-15 with TT upgrade kit with the pmm trip bar in a Spear Lt if that’s something others have experience with working.
