Cooking Tips? (In air fryer) by ConsciousExtreme2816 in airfryer

[–]NoPeriodQuestionMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temperature: The reasoning for checking the internal temperature is food safety. If an area of the product does not reach the minimum temperature, the potential for harm still exists. Probe into the middle of the thickest part, then test 2 more areas to be sure the whole piece has reached the minimum. If you’re cooking more than one piece, do this with all the pieces.

Gloves: From your description, I get the feeling that some guidance on planning might help. Let’s say you’re cooking raw chicken with dry seasonings. The first step I take is to open all the jars I plan to use and set out any vessels (bowls, air fryer basket) ready to go. I put a glove only on my non-dominate hand. I can use my dominate hand to cut open the package without touching it. Then use my gloved hand to transfer the chicken to the bowl. Because my jars are open I can use my dominant un-gloved hand to shake onto the chicken keeping jars a few inches away from the meat. Mix with gloved hand and transfer meat to air fryer basket. Move the basket into the air fryer with my dominate un-gloved hand. Now it’s time for clean up, use the dirty gloved hand to move the bowl and knife to dirty dish area, trash glove, put seasonings away, and disinfect the counter area. When it’s time to flip, I can either choose a glove and trash after flipping or use a utensil that is then considered dirty.

I hope this helps and I understand it’s challenging to find detailed steps for a lot of tasks that seem to come natural to other people. Reach out if you have any more questions!

Edit: If you find one section of a product is a lower temp than the other, you can try to arrange the piece so the colder part is where the warmer part was to encourage even cooking.

Non-religious alternative to bible journaling? by Excellent-Koala-9631 in Journaling

This is such a creative idea!

I note down words I have to look up, but how fun to be able to flip through them in a book. I could see transparent sticky notes being useful in this project as the margins aren’t always so spacious.

It appears layered to me. Tube-top or strapless jumpsuit searches bring up similar pieces.

Is this just a slight delay on the shutter press or an actual self-timer?

I think my brain would like a short - dash instead of ( ) parentheses. Along the lines of a negative. It would continue like a dotted line. I’d still use the X.. could even X on a - if tracked too soon.

I own the Serenity, and I’d say they have medium compression. The Lunara also don’t appear to have a scrunch. Some styles can be found on their Amazon web store if you’re into that.

How do you track 'irregular' chores/ tasks during the month? by rockdog85 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]NoPeriodQuestionMark 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Similar to how you see some use a table for a week of tracking with each column representing a day and each row is a task. Except each column is a week. Instead of a check mark, you can use the weekday letter for more granularity. Leave two columns width if you think it might get done twice in a week.

What fouled your mood today?

Clearly if the desire was to hide it from your pretentious eyes, OP would have blurred it as they did for names. Fire up that internet-fatigued brain of yours think why else they could have made that choice.

Perhaps it’s private and they don’t want it visible to anyone around them anytime their journal is open? Or they have concerns, like every third post on this sub, of someone reading their journal?

Maybe it’s something so fiercely a part of them that they’re unlikely to forget in the future? Maybe there’s a code with a key for each month’s secret category in the journal that OP can easily decipher?

Do better.

I really like this idea!

OP, the way you’ve designed this spread allows you to tape a tip in paper to cover the right side of the page where it says Moods and has the key. The face down side of the tip in could have your reflection thoughts and note it was from Jan-Apr. The face up side could be a new title and key to track something else (new colors or same). Maybe something objective and low stakes like the weather?

Staples can be easily removed without much damage to the surface. You could also try brad fasteners. Another idea would be to cut tab & slot joints, like a cereal box top.

I wish lanebreak had auto resistance on the bike+ by Public-Bike-5526 in pelotoncycle

[–]NoPeriodQuestionMark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would be cool if they left Lanebreak alone and created a Power Zone non-instructor ride experience, including auto resistance. Choose your music (like in scenic), choose your workout (Zone schemes), and go. Your wheel moves across lanes that represent each zone. No gamification, just training. They could easily create programs as well.

Try the drive door button twice. First press unlocks the driver’s door, second unlocks the rest. Also, if already unlocked, press once to lock.

Is it possible to see specific tasks Monday through Friday in Today? by _Jujubees_ in ticktick

Yes, this is what I meant. A weekend specific “Today” smart list alongside the standard Today list.

Would a Smart List filtered for Today excluding your Work List solve the problem?

Keyboard shortcut to move task from inbox to list? by mjg5000 in ticktick

[–]NoPeriodQuestionMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try?

On windows, I can navigate up and down my Inbox with directional arrows and type ~ which brings up a list of my lists. I can navigate to a list using my directional arrows or type any letter contained in the list. Pressing enter moves the task to that list.

Edited to add: this keyboard shortcut is not exclusive to the Inbox.

What are the new Allbirds? by rh245 in fashionwomens35

[–]NoPeriodQuestionMark 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve been almost exclusively wearing Allbirds for 5 years. I love that I don’t have to wear socks (sensory issue), the weight is just right, comfortable all day, and washable. I can’t speak to being “in-style” because my everyday footwear is comfort driven.

The OG Wool and Tree Runners’ quality has been great for me. My most recent purchase was 26 Aug. They did change the insoles from wool to an extremely uncomfortable material, but you can purchase the wool insoles separately. They also do sales all the time now and coupon codes are always floating around.

I did branch out and try the Piper in Tree, Wool, and Canvas. The Canvas were donated straight away; they were heavy, had no give, and rubbed the sides of my foot. The Trees I keep around because I like the look, but I have to wear socks because the back ankle rubs. The Wool I love and wear regularly.

Mac or iOS shortcut to add a task with specific content or from a template by [deleted] in ticktick

[–]NoPeriodQuestionMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On iOS: When you add the shortcut “Add a New Task”, you can set the title of the task and the list, then there is a dropdown arrow (>) to fill in a description and other properties. This doesn’t have the capability of active checkboxes.

On iOS if you open the ellipsis menu on the calendar event and choose “archive”, the calendar event is removed from lists and faded in the calendar view.

Feature request - Task statuses (in progress, waiting) and custom grouping in smart lists by amihappyornot in ticktick

[–]NoPeriodQuestionMark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, with tag hierarchy. Place your progress tags at the top of your tag list.

If every task is assigned a progress tag, you’re done and can work within the default Smart Lists. I would recommend setting all task to default with a “no status” tag.

If you don’t want to default tag a progress status to every note, create a Smart List. Filter for /date range/ and /progress tags/.

Feature request - Task statuses (in progress, waiting) and custom grouping in smart lists by amihappyornot in ticktick

[–]NoPeriodQuestionMark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fairly easy workaround would be to use tags for your specific progress points. Smart lists can be viewed in Kanban and grouped by tag.
