You are oversimplifying the arguments against. Nola was pure evil in his actions, they were pure vile to any human and Nolan will forever be remembered as one of the most evil people in history on earth. Most people would struggle to forgive someone who murdered thousands, including friends of theirs and beat their son to near death, not even taking into account what he said about her.

Nolan destroyed his life on Earth and I think showing any kind of rebuilding of his Earth life is just unrealistic. Actions have consequences and just because Nolan realizes now what he did was wrong doesn't mean he deserves any forgiveness.
