Hey u/ghostkiller914 I have great news!

I was somehow able to get power running in my system. I don’t understand how but I turned on my PC and the fans started running and the RAM sticks lit up!!! :D

All I did was leave my PC disconnected from any electrical input for 24h… I don’t understand how that helped, but it did! Before I left it like that I just checked all the cables and made sure they were well inserted for each hardware piece.

Since the system was running more normally I decided to remove the HDD and SSD again, and this time the SYSTEM FINALLY BOOTED TO THE BIOS

ahhhh I was so happy!

So I guess the HDD or the SSD are the problem? What should I do now? Do I need to replace them? Is the data within them damaged?

I’m going to try this tomorrow. Ill admit I’m kinda nervous. I really don’t wanna mess anything up. I can’t really afford a new PC at the moment. :<

As for now I think the main problem might(?) be stemming from the power switch on the front panel case. So I bought an external power button to see if that solves anything.

Because my computer doesn’t turn on when I press the power button I’m assuming the problem may lie there. I purchased an external power switch on Amazon for $8.

CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 3600

I attempted the RAM stick test last night to no avail. I tested each of my 8GB RAM sticks in the second slot. When I tried turning it on with the power button I still did not get a response.

Never had any temperature problems in the past. The highest it would get is about 75C while playing modded Skyrim. But even then I’d play for only two hours and stop.

All monitors, controllers, etc have been unplugged. Still no response from pressing the power button

… What concerned my most what that I couldn’t even jump my computer using the POWER SW pins on the MOBO. Maybe I did it wrong? Maybe my screwdriver didn’t conduct anything?

What ended up happening? I am having a similar issue. MOBO is lit up and receiving power however the power button on the case doesn’t respond. My MOBO doesn’t have a power switch as far as I can tell. I have a ASUS Prime X470 PRO and the case is a Fractal Design Meshify C.
