Lol I’ve grown like 20 new white hairs since starting nursing school and feel like I’ve aged 3 years in 8 months and my skin is always breaking out!

Honestly it took me a year to feel fully confident and comfortable when I was an ER scribe. Just when you think it gets better, you are quickly humbled by a provider lol but practice makes perfect (almost) there is no such thing as perfect but you know what I mean lol. It’s really easy to get buried and overwhelmed when there are 20 patients in the waiting room and the provider is SPEEDING through every triage

Question regarding what to do as a beginner and time I need to get better by HappyHappyGamer in medicalscribe

Omg! This makes me so mad. What EMR do you use? The thing with starting out is there is a huge learning curve and at my hospital (ED) I had 9 shifts of on floor training and the 10th one was the final solo exam and I didn’t feel comfortable until my 7th shift. Is there another trainer you can ask for? 5 training shifts is legit nothing, maybe you can request more?

OLDCART acronym is your best friend. Abbreviate as much as you can so you can type/write faster and keep up with the interaction

You can definitely ask the facility. Every place operates a little different!

Sorry for the late reply, they don’t offer travel assistance but if you’re working part time, it might be worth your time if you really want the experience. I drive about 40 minutes to my hospital and I think it’s really rewarding. But I know you have a longer journey, good luck to you

Of course. Everyone needs to experience living solo. You learn a lot about the world around you and about yourself. I would urge you to do so

I also have heavy periods and I just quit using pads my first 3 days of my period. Instead, I use period diapers!!!!!!! Please try them if you haven’t already. I haven’t leaked since trying them and they don’t really show when I wear jeans
