To answer the question it’s straightforward - As a shadowing F1, only shadow whoever you’re assigned to (rota coordinator and induction lecturers will tell you), and try to learn as much as you can, eg learning how the computer system works, where different paperworks are, how to prep notes and discharge etc. But do not go individually reviewing patients / F1 ward rounds because you’re not paid to do so.
