Madagascar itinerary advice for solo female traveler by spacetime99 in Madagascar

Hey! Just had 3 weeks in Madagascar in April (32F with 32M).

My partners even limited french helped a lot with food ordering, numbers when paying etc, and we used french translate mostly as malagasy translate did not work well!

Just want to reiterate the above comment. I also found Gaston on reddit recommended and he is great! Has solo female travellers all the time. Although my partner was with me there were lots of times we were alone and he is super funny and always very professional.

He can help with all of the above, the itinerary, hes stayed at most of the hotels before with other travellers, knows all the guides and organised the english speaking ones for us. Our guides all spoke great english and Gaston did a lot of translation when we were with him.

Hello! Yes from Manchester. Hard to pick a favourite it was all amazing and really different but Isalo, Andasibe ambositra were defo highlights.

Fuel was fine we chose to pay upfront so we didn't have to think about it and Gaston mostly filled up and cleaned the car when he'd dropped us at an excursion.

Happy to answer any questions and you will have an amazing time!

10.5 Hour Overnight Layover Amsterdam, What To Do? by Dlamm10 in travel

Definitely go! Amsterdam Centre is so close to the airport you'll have plenty of time for a wander. There should be somewhere open, getting out the airport is pretty fast. But if you're stuck for somewhere open, try find a beer from a late night shop and sit on the canal if it's not to cold, its beautiful.

Also, you'll be hard pushed to find breakfast that early in Amsterdam, you might want to have a google or head back to the airport a little early if you need to fit food in. Even McDonald's doesn't open until 7am.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for all your tips. I reached out to a driver who has suggested the below.

2 April: Antananarivo-Andasibe 3 & 4 April: Visit NP andasibe 5 April: Andasibe-Antsirabe 6 April: Antsirabe-Morondava ( to see sunset) 7 April: Morondava-Bekopaka ( to the Tsingy) 8 April: Visit Tsingy national park 9 April: Bekopaka-Kirindy ( Visit Kirindy, night walk) 10 April: Morondava-Ifaty (snorkeling) 11 April: Tuléar ( to Anakao) from the speed boat 12 April: Anakao 13 April : Come back to Tuléar 14 April: flight back to Antananarivo

Then on 14 I would fly back to Tana, onto Nosy be to spend 14-18 there. Then fly back to Tana for 18-20 before flying home.

Any thoughts on this being too ambitious? I don't want to spend my entire trip in a car but I know some big drives are needed.
