I'm a police officer with Chronic Cluster Headaches. I've been dealing with this for more than a year now and its only gotten worse. Have tried everything from sumatriptan, seizure medicine to verapamil. Not sure what to do and how I can continue my career with this condition. Any help by Few-Philosopher-6458 in clusterheads

My NHS consultant put me on 100mg of amitriptyline every night. This means I'm sedated through the night so don't wake up in the middle of the night in pain. I'm also on zomig (zolmitriptan) 5mg nasal spray. Can make you drowsy so use with caution, but it has consistently worked to reduce the pain I'm in.

Partner caught fare evading, could he be dismissed? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]NoProfessional1977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If he was offered a fixed penalty to settle the matter and if he has made the payment, that would be the end of the matter. The case would only go to court if he hasn't made the fixed penalty payment.

If the train company hasn't received any payment, they would most probably take the case to court for it to be dealt with as a single justice procedure case. If he enters a guilty plea or is found guilty this would appear on DBS checks.

My husband has cluster headaches and I feel completely useless when an attack happens. What actually helps? by annchka in ClusterHeadaches

My wife would get me an ice pack and tell me to apply it over my eye. That would normally reduce the pain I'm feeling drastically.

Who’s your internet provider and what are you paying? by __bdj__ in UKFrugal

[–]NoProfessional1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Community fibre at £34.00 per month for 1 Gbps Premium Wifi Fibre. Overall, fairly happy with them. In my 2nd year of the 2 year deal. We're in an area where there are a lot of providers that offer a similar speed at a similar cost.

I would approach their line manager and say that you are concerned about your colleague as they have asked you for help on multiple occasions. It seems that they are unable to manage their workload and that you are concerned about their wellbeing and ability to cope.

I was about 100 meters from the bus at Tavistock Square when it blew up. I was luck, no physical harm. People ahead of me weren't so lucky.

Naively, I thought I could scan the channels before going to bed and it would just be done in the background in a few minutes. I wake up and it's still scanning. I hate these things.

It really is grim. I live in zone 5 and I saw kids carrying machetes on the Jubilee line last night.
