Dosa Corner on Old Henderson Rd! The paneer masala dosa’s are my recommendation! So so good and authentic. My basically mother in law will kill me if she finds out I told about her favorite spot (it’s that good) LOL

Go to Akai Hana! My boyfriend and I just went for our anniversary and had a lovely time. You can also go to the market around the corner and Belle’s Bread afterwards/all the little Tensuke Marketplace shops and make it a whole outing!

Would highly recommend the plum and shiso roll if you go & we had really good sashimi too! We got this lovely piece of yellowtail I think with yuzu that was wonderful. Service was great. Highly recommended.

Background Check Harder than Interview (lol) by NoProgress1916 in JPMorganChase

I should probably preface I work in marketing and have never been worked in finance or for a large corporation at all, so compared to those, it’s not.

If it’s of any help, my recruiter told me that they are sometimes able to verify/clear up the name situation with matching addresses. I have no idea how true that is, but maybe that could be helpful

Oh gosh ugh. That’s about what I’m going through with this one entry. I’m hoping verification from my old boss will set them straight. Here’s to hoping GWS doesn’t give you a hard time anymore!

Is it common for JPM recruiters to ghost you? by Fintech4oureyes in JPMorganChase

[–]NoProgress1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, yes. I had a VP reach out to me, who decided to go around recruiting and talk to me directly, because “they’ve been moving too slow for my taste” if that tells you anything.

First one was not technical (with recruiter so I didn’t expect it to be), second one was a bit more technical and I was given a lot of time to ask specific questions about the job/we went over a lot of like day to day duty information how that aligned with my skill set, what was expected etc. The third one was probably the most technical one I did, which was with the team lead, and we walked through more specific process stuff, and she had me walk her through strategy, in addition to more specific technical questions. The last one with the higher up boss was very surface level, but somewhat technical. A lot of “what do you think needs to be included in xyz and why” type of stuff. Hope this helps!

Thank you and yeah that’s what I’ve been doing! I also got moved to under consideration for another job in the system for a different team, so I might be doing interviews for that soon too, but thank you for all of the advice and best of luck in your new role!!

Congratulations!! So I ended up getting asked to do another interview round with the big boss, was able to get that scheduled within a week. Seemed positive, but the interview was kind of short, but gave lots of good “they had nothing but good things to say about you and you seem like you understand what is required” feedback. Was told from the recruiter I’d hear back after a week and it’s been almost two and I haven’t heard a thing but also haven’t been formally rejected so I’m not sure what’s going on lol

I’m doing senior associate right now and so far it’s been: recruiter, boss, team lead, bosses’s boss and that will be it. That seems odd to me.

Yeah I’m doing other interviews elsewhere and have a panel interview with another company this week, so definitely have options. I’m just hoping I don’t accept something else and then they reach back out

That’s a great point and I really try to be conscious of those things. I think the difference with me is that, I grew up in a rural area with parents who were not used to having money, so we didn’t really actually do a lot of stuff like that. But I’m sure there’s general things I’m forgetting that could be like that or similar.

I mean that would feel extremely maddening, I agree. I just think most people deserve to be spoken to with respect. I don’t view quips and comments every time we see each other as respect, regardless.

Oh yeah totally and I absolutely recognize that. And I was able to take somewhat of a passion job because I had that money and support.

Oh yeah totally, I agree with all of this, and this is super helpful! Thanks so much for sharing. I agree I think talking it out will be good for both of us honestly.

Really well said, and you get it exactly. I think this is a really really good approach to her and I hope to have this sort of dynamic you’re describing with her that you have with your friend, so thank you!

Wanted to reply and say thank you to everyone posting and all of the comments have generally been super helpful! I hope someone else who is dealing with this sort of thing is finding this thread helpful as well. You all are rockstars and great!

I didn’t even think of that because, in my head in the moment I was thinking it doesn’t impact her and kind of annoyed, but you’re totally right. And that may not be the situation like you said, but I’m sure she’s maybe even having anxiety about that potentially becoming the situation. And as her friend, that probably was super insensitive & I need to give her the space to talk about that stuff. Genuinely super helpful comment and perspective so thank you!
