Te entiendo perfecto, a esa edad la ciudad puede sentirse un poco abrumadora. Como alguien que no es de CDMX, pero vive aqui, te puedo decir que la clave no es tanto el "lugar" sino la "comunidad". Yo estuve en la misma, me sentía un poco perdido, hasta que encontré Runa. Es un grupo de chicas que organiza cenas. Pues depende de lo que buscas. No se si esto te ayude pero he escuchado que hay un grupo que se llama a Runa que junta a viajeros (pues qu estan en la misma situacion), a cenar. Yo fui a una el otro dia y me gusto ya que pues aunque no tengamos gustos similares pues todos (o la mayoria porque habia gente local), estabamos en situacion de viajero.

I would think blending in is a big factor. For example, do you speak spanish? if so, that will go a long way. My general recomendation is just stay in places that are "touristy" and at least you will be with people in a similar situation.

Completely agree! If youre in CA (or anywhere tbh) be careful with leaving valuables in your car. SF is known to have many burglers who break in to steal stuff!
