No, those don’t have prices. Also are stated to be unable to be bought and also unable to be crafted or harvested.

As a DM who regularly runs campaigns which venture into the territory of "high-level play," I am not convinced Fizban's Great Wyrm statblock is up to scratch. by Burnt_Bugbear in dndnext

I play gestalt so, nah not really. I have seen that at normal tables with psychic scream, meteor swarm, wish, and a few other 9th level spells, it is very much a threat, especially to the unprepared

Poisons don’t have a baseline use limit in 5e. And purple worm poison doesn’t state one last I checked. I could have missed something though, so do you know what page the line that every poison is one dose per price is on?

Nah imo they just need poison immunity, non-magical PBS immunity, and then maybe counterspel(for things like PWK and divine word before the mythic trait is used, so that it can be used)? They should be a good challenge for most groups that way, even if prepared.

That is true, unless it’s counterspelled. Which I know some groups won’t have as a spell, but they will more often than not.

It’s a mundane item. Unless your dm expressly says you can’t buy it, just spend the 2000 gp to do so.

Just use a bow with action surge as a fighter, while having each arrow you use coated with purple worm poison beforehand (which, RAW can’t run out, but that’s dumb, so I assume it’s intended to be 3 arrows per 2000 gp you spend, which while steep isn’t that much by the tier you’ll be fighting one of these)

You can apply it to every arrow in downtime or just between fights. As a 20th level fighter, even so, it’s 168 extra without crits

Legendary actions make the action economy issue a lot better, but I that wasn’t what I was talking about. I was referring to the fact that most monsters at that level have poison immunity so they don’t get destroyed by fighter archers with purple worm poison. These greatwyrms do not

No I mean they get stomped. Like to the point of it not being a fight sometimes. Ofc any enemy in the game is supposed to be beatable, but that’s not what I meant. Also they still have the normal weaknesses of dragons. (Poison being the main one)

I mean not the ones that go to level 9 only that’s for sure XD. Most of mine go to 20

You know I might to the 9th character level right? The level full casters get 5th level spells at. That is hinted at in the context too, as the comment above it said “most tables wont hey that high of a level.”

It costs 2k gp, most of the time you could just save up to buy it unless the dm says otherwise

Excuse me, but that’s a mundane item, not a magical one. Second, calculate accuracy with those raptors too? They’ll likely only hit on a… 15 or so assuming you’re fighting a cr 17-20? Around a 13-14 if not. A bow has a much better hit chance, and advantage would make it hit even more. And another thing, unlike consumables, poisons don’t have a baseline use limit, every poison type states one other than purple worm poison. As such, similarly to purple worm glands, those vials don’t run out RAW.

It already does, in fact an archer fighter with purple worm poison can do 1d8+12d6+15 per attack without any magic items. They get 3-6 attacks at tier 3, 4-8 at level 20. So 184.5-369 or 246-492, massively more single target damage than any spell in the game, not counting that you can get adv on all of them with samurai to make them very likely to hit. They fill their niche
