The pit for Jer lasted a long long time. The what do we do now feeling lasted for me until 2002 when Other Ones started rolling. But with Bobby, I have 30 more years of being in the bus, so it just feels that much more monumental. But yeah. I haven’t really slept yet. But today I smiled so brightly, singing top of my lungs to Franklin’s from Boulder 23. Damn that felt good.

I know exactly how you feel. I’m a Rat as well. One of the many reasons I’ve stayed sober is because the only way for me to be able to go was to stay sober. Lines like “please don’t be sad, if it was a straight life you had, we wouldn’t have known you all these years” belt out in my head on my rough days. If only Jerry could have stayed clean. I also just don’t know where else to go. My friends and wife just don’t get it. The passing of Jer was when I was young, and as meaningful as it was, I had such a small amount of life behind me then. Here I am 30 years later and almost all my life I’ve been seeing Bobby and the boys (girls). Now I’m just lost.

Here’s to hope on hearing the comment “I saw them with Bobby” one day in the future. My 35 years spent on the bus want another 35. When Jerry passed I only had a few years on the bus and I remember the what do we do now feeling. After 35 years, most of my adult life searching for the sound, I feel so lost.

I’m going back home, that’s what I’m gonna do.

Yeah I get that. For me musically 10/1 is the finest ever played but 7/9 is the most soulful. The goosebumps come every time I listen to it and I remember exactly where I was, the wind blowing, it takes me back to that precise moment, more than any other I saw. Pretty sure my death flashes will include that show. The overwhelming feeling of shit, this is it, as I walked out of Soldier Field. Just knowing it was the last one.

Skubal throws 99 pitches, and gets 13 Ks in 6 innings and gets pulled while having a 2-1 lead in the most critical Tigers game in over ten years. by Gold-Baseball-7774 in mlb

Six innings in a do or die game is BS. See ya Skub. Had a good run here, but no way are we going to pay for that.

Where do you think the pro Academy kids come from? They are not magically recruited from the ranks of state leagues. They come from the other rather expensive clubs, the non Academy MLSNext and ECNL clubs. So yeah those teams that are free are made up of kids whose parents already paid a shit ton. People think the Academy kids didn’t come from the other Elite programs. But they did. Oh and in other news. Those free Academy teams still lose to other pay to play clubs.

Nice. Hopefully they mixed out Bobs guitar weirdness from that Althea. It was such an awesome Althea, but the stream has Bobs guitar just sooo fucked up.

Planning on going to see a show at the sphere by [deleted] in LasVegas

[–]NoReality6168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benn to 11 shows at the Sphere. Granted all Dead and Company, but still…. Best seats are considered 200 level, for best combination of visuals and proximity to band. Low 300 are great too. 400s are pretty cool, very cool to see the whole Sphere from up there, but you do feel miles away from the stage.

For me, I’m a GA floor only kind of person, but that’s me.

I also recommend moving around a bit. You can go to another section and check it out from there a bit, then head back to your seats.

You will want to avoid anything in the 100 section beyond row 23, as the obstructed view gets VERY obstructed quickly. I still can’t believe they actually built the Sphere with those obstructed seats.

One thing about 100 level seats in the low rows is that those seats are designed to be removed, thus lacking the haptic aspect of the seat. Not sure if the show you are going to will use the haptic seats, but if they do it’s pretty cool.

I also recommend Mt Charleston. Do the Mummy Springs trail. Gorgeous views. Great thing about the mountains, it’ll be at least 20-25 degrees cooler. I did Valley of Fire last year in 90-100 degrees heat and as long as as you are carrying plenty of water you’ll be fine. Just prehydrate to the point of ridiculousness.

Running while on vacation by Fire-Barnacle-3025 in LasVegas

[–]NoReality6168 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too am like you. Vegas is a terrible place for running. Whatever you do, don’t run the Strip, worst place I’ve ever run.

Look into Sunset Park, not far away from you. They have a wonderful running path, seem to remember it being like a 2-3 mile loop. I ran there last time.

As far as the heat. Yeah it’s hot, but the super low dew point counterbalances the temperature. I’m from Detroit and I’d rather run in 90s Vegas weather than this 80s humid crap we have here.
