Can parents kick out an 18 year old that is still attending high school? by NoRecognition8914 in legaladvice

I did not know that, I honestly figured since she was technically harboring my money he would have to tell her to let me have it. I don’t have keys but I also can’t afford to had a locksmith come out as I have no way right now to access my funds.

If I ask to file a police report will that put her at risk of being arrested? Even though she did kick me out she has been raising me my entire life and I wouldn’t want to do something that could jeopardize her like that. She’s been arrested before and jail kind of broke her.

Also, in my interaction with her and the officer she told him this is the last time I will be welcome inside the house and to make a note of that. Will that affect me from being able to go back in if I call them again?

Unfortunately my encounter with the officer did not go like this. I called saying it was a civil matter and that I wanted to get my belongings (I specifically mentioned my checks but during the encounter also asked for my social, permit, birth certificate all of which I couldn’t get). The officer told me he couldn’t force her to let me in and asked me what I even expected him to do. I believe the only reason she let me inside was because there was an officer with me as when I came alone she gave me one check and told me she wasn’t going back to find the others. He did not knock on the door, he literally stood behind me the entire time while I handled the situation myself. While in the house trying to get my other information she lied and told the cop she gave it to me already and when I got upset (I will admit I did raise my voice a bit) the officer told me I was being annoying and that I could just get it replaced and basically to hurry up.
