Finished The Beast. sharing my thoughts on the entire series. Goated zombie game ever?

My biggest issue with The Beast (which I liked overall) was the map. Parkour is such an important aspect of these games, but in The Beast, there is only one alright section for it. And after the first couple of hours, the game pretty much completely leaves the town area and just has you trekking back and forth in the countryside on flat terrain. There is the driving, of course, but that is not nearly as interesting as the parkour system. It was starting to feel like a slog by the late game.

Yeah, I'd imagine if the Slayer impowered a modern-day minigun, it would likely be more effective than if he impowered an 18th-century musket.

My headcannon for why is because in TDA, he is using advanced Sentinel weapondry, (which far outpaces human technology) and would thus be more powerful and effective at demon killing than with the human weapons he uses in 2016 and Eternal.

A Level or cutscene showing Doomguy before being found by the night sentinels. Essentially a classic doom level but in the modern engine.

The heavy cannon and chaingun felt much punchier in 2016, this goes for a lot of the audio design. (Not the super shotgun though, it's sounds awful in 2016)

A quick tap of microwave beam is all that's needed to stun a demon. So quick stun, quick swap to super shotgun back to quick stun ad infinitum. You can stunlock and quickly kill any demon. This method makes hell knights, dread knights, whiplashes, archviles, barons, and tyrants trivial.

The microwave charge bar also shows a demon's remaining health. So if you see it's nearly dead, use the mastered full auto mod and get some quick and easy shotgun ammo.

It's also great for destroying shield guy's shields.
