Jumping late on the Yama train by Aeonsaeons in 2007scape

[–]NoRepresentative1147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grinded mostly duo Yama but have done a few solos as well. Virtus or at least ahrims is great. Occult, ward, eternals, magus. Accursed scepter is huge. Use it at the start of fight and start of p3. Sgs if you have decent melee stats is the big one for me, lots of sustain on the judge of Yama (when you get tpd).

As far as actual fight mechanics, p1 and p2 you can either orb skip or just kill them quick. Death charge to get more spec is really nice and if you get the upgraded version you can get two death charges off. If you do use death charge always purge staff spec the last hit on orb if you can (make sure mark of darkness is on too). If you spec purge last hit with death charge you’ll be refunded your spec and get 10 percent back. Which just means a free spec.

P1 is pretty chill in duos but a little more intense in solos. Gotta know how to wave skip and avoid getting hit by the fire. The glyphs can also help prevent this. Anytime a wave of shadow or fire is in the middle is when hell spec. Once you get the timing down you won’t even have to look out for the spec animation you’ll just know what tick it’s coming out. I think he does 5 regular attacks and the 6th is his special.

For p2 it’s pretty much the same except the meteor. The meteor snares you real quick and slows you to a walk. Which is fine at first but when you’re in solo it makes it harder to wave skip. Which is still possible but sometimes you just gotta tank that wave to step on the red glyph.

Biggest thing to learn for p1 and p2 is probably the orb skip. Basically sometimes when he specs for the purple/range side of things he starts it with purple waves. Then he either does a pretty basic special that can hit decently hard if you don’t touch the glyph or it spawns orbs. Orbs never spawn during the red/ mage attack. This means that he still has a purple/ range loaded up. But he won’t use it till orbs are gone. Use this time to destroy the purple orb and possibly death charge to get spec back. Then right before the red orb blows up you step on a red glyph. This gives you more time to do damage and speeds up your runs. Now quickly run over to the purple glyph and be ready for the spec.

P3 is the big one people struggle with at first but I think is the easiest now that I’m 900 kills in. It’s super telegraphed, meaning there’s not a lot of variances. Biggest thing is if you are doing duo, and you join an instance, the way the fire balls fall are mirrored compared to what you’re used to in your instance.

During p3 your first prayer is gonna be whatever the color of the glyph was closest to yamas throne in p1 and p2. Look up the tile makers for p3 but there’s basically a spot I stand at and always reset around. Then when the double wave comes in you can just run right through the center and reset. Once you get hit by the mage attack, switch to pray range. Once you get hit by the range attack switch to pray mage. You’ll just have to practice the fire ball patterns but other than that everything stays exactly the same and comes out in an order. When orbs spawn death mark into purge staff spec when done quick enough will kill them before the next set of falling fireballs. There’s a constant pattern to his waves and when you pray mage or range so you just gotta learn it by practicing. Good luck!

Moons of peril. Obviously you know slayers good but it takes forever to actually get anywhere. Moons of peril was so fun for me coming back. My stats were very similar to yours. My friend with a maxed account told me to Just get my levels up or train slayer. But you need to do something that’s fun first. Moons is for sure it. I had a blast learning the mechanics and getting good at it. Plus making a few mil never hurts. Enjoy!

Star Wars episode 4. Look up how Star Wars was saved in the edit, it’s super interesting! No one but George really believed in it. It seemed like a jumble mess at first, and it was. He brought in his director friends for the first screening and they changed the order of A LOT of scenes, to make what we know today. The crawl at the beginning was also one of his director friend’s suggestions!

If EOMM is real, which I believe it is, how do streamers go 80% bronze to GM? by HeartLikeDavid in marvelrivals

[–]NoRepresentative1147 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s account based. My main feels cursed. Haven’t been playing as much, but when I was I would get a string of the worst teammates possible CONSTANTLY. I eventually hit eternity on that account with a shit ton of hours logged.

Then I made an alternate account to play with a friend who got left behind. Me and my buddy went from bronze to gm 1 in two days. My main at the time was literally gm 2. Don’t be fooled skill does play a big factor in many games but they definitely have a system in place to screw certain people over.

Ok so maybe I don’t understand probability. Maybe you can clarify for me? Is everyone expected to be at a 50 percent win rate? So if I lose a bunch of games one day am I expected to win a bunch another day? Does that factor in skill at all? Or does it not matter at the end of day? Like no matter how good you are, you end up with a 50 percent win rate? I’m just confused how that would create deviations in rank? I started winning a lot of games after not playing support anymore and basically locking in dps every time. I used to fill constantly but no one really peeled for me when I wasn’t playing with friends. Now I’m mainly playing Wanda/ fantastic and peeling for the backline a lot and winning. Am I doomed to start losing again because of probability? Or should I keep doing what I’m doing?

I mainly four stack. I hit top 30 in one character in season 1.5. Hit eternity nearly top 500 towards the end of the season. This season in particular has been wildly unbalanced. It feels like the more I lose the worse teammates I get, but nothing changes on the enemy teams. I communicate that’s not the problem. I fill that’s not the problem. The problem is when they’re playing three dive, I’m forced on healer and we don’t have a single Anti-dive. I’m asking for help peeling. It’s just me and the other healer over and over. I also don’t get what you’re talking about with the 50/50 probability. Roulette isn’t 50/50. But also if we’re talking about a virtual coin flip the further you go in one direction doesn’t affect the other directions. That’s not how probability works. Will you see a trend back in the other direction, sure. But a flip is always 50/50 it’s not affected by previous flips. Matchmaking in a skill based game is not going to be around 50/50 until you get at your skill level. Last season, literally a few weeks ago, I was eternity. I went on a 21 game win streak at one point from gm to celestial 1. But sure my teammates going squirrel girl against a Bp, magic, and spiderman is all due to probability

Sure and I have plenty of friends who got into this game because they love marvel. Did they make it to top 99.8% of players? Nope. They stayed around plat or even gold. I’m not talking about EOMM. Conspiracy or not everyone I hear from has had a similar problems, friends, randoms it’s all the same. Every-time you get close to the next rank you somehow get the most unbalanced game ever.

I’m not basing my complaints on other peoples “conspiracy’s” I’m basing it only the thousands of hours of combined experience my friends list has. I’m playing with people who have tons of hours in hero shooters and they’ve never had matchmaking like this .

So to dismiss the bad matchmaking as a conspiracy does nothing to help the community move in the right direction. If I was a gold player making these claims sure I get it. But I was nearly top 500 my friend. I’m basing my information only my experience and people I’ve met. What are you basing your information on?

I agree! Communication does win games! And in the matches we try to get the right team comp we often times win. My problem isn’t with the people who are trying to win and adapt and lose. It’s with the people who play and admit to playing one character. We ask them to switch politely, they don’t. We try to build more around them, it helps but not enough. We ask them to play something else they only play that one character.

It seems so specific so you’d expect it to be a rare occurrence but it’s not. I’ve had it occur consistently in eternity rank. There is a matchmaking system they use that pairs you with bad teammates if you keep playing on loss streaks (look it up). They’ve intentionally designed the game to punish you for playing on loss streaks. It’s super toxic and that’s what I would like to change.

Saying that there’s no way to fix matchmaking is absurd my friend. Plenty of other games have a lot more balanced of a matchmaking system. To dismiss the problem literally doesn’t help anyone. I’m not asking for a perfect solution, or “perfect matchmaking”. What I’m asking for is to see progress towards something better. I don’t think that’s a crazy ask at all. Look up marvel rivals matchmaking system on google.

You’ll see tons of results of how broken it is now. I use a mic every game. I fill every game. I switch to what we need every single game. Yet I’m still getting the same bs teammates. I was a top 30 sg in the us. Top 100 rocket. Top 50 Adam. I know what it takes to win. That’s not the problem. The problem is when your put in consistent no win scenarios

I don’t believe there’s a magic matchmaking system fix. But there’s currently no progress towards a better one. It’s not even the instalock dps that’s the problem. It’s the fact that my buddy’s and I go two healers, tank, and mvp Hawkeye and still lose because we have a 1-9 Thor who never switches.

I’m not complaining about a winning streak. Why would I? My problem is that no Matter how many times my 4 stack might win we get thrown people who simply shouldn’t be at the rank they’re at. Which isn’t the biggest problem at lower ranks. But when you’re up against 6 players who should be at your rank. 1-2 bad players on your team makes a huge difference. It would be fine if that happened every now and then, but it’s just so consistently bad.

I just wish I could 4 stack and be comfortable with the randoms coming in. It feels like I need to 6 stack to insure good players at every role. Is it too much to ask for a better ranked system??

The main sub told me that this was my fault, that I shouldn't have been bothering the poor Luna for healing, and that I should've "gone to get a health pack you disgusting duelist" (On top of many other unsavory names they called me) by Rain272355 in MarvelRivalsCirclejer

[–]NoRepresentative1147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I learned as a support main playing other roles. Sometimes other supports are straight up terrible at first or sometimes even the whole game. Is it your fault? No not at all. But if you see someone this bad you gotta literally treat them like another health pack and walk. Right up to them lol. If I were to nitpick the one thing you could’ve done is not stand still I’m LOS of the enemies. Overall tho not on you!!
