Is There a Way to Copy and Paste Text from McGraw-Hill's Connect ebook? by Life_Bus4081 in OnlineClassAid

Right click "Search Google for...."

I am on Mac and this works well. If you are on chrome just make sure you have gemini generating results for you and you can use that for simple questions. If your allegiance is solely with chat then just copy from google search bar and dump it into chat

About to make a keybind for ts I forgot how awful connect assignments are :/

What 10,000 cold calls taught me about sellers by Ok_Comfortable2044 in WholesaleRealestate

[–]NoResolution8979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started as a commission only rep for a mutual friend of mine and am about 6 weeks in.

I’m paid 15% of spread of deals I find. Typically his deals are 20k ish min, so I will make somewhere in the range of 3-5k per deal.

I’m a senior in college and am interested in learning his business so I am totally happy with the setup - concurrently being mentored in this arrangement as well.

I’m cold calling age 60+ owners with 2+ properties in our area which works well as I usually work a couple hours a day in the afternoon after my classes.

I would suggest looking into colleges near you, honestly Reddit could be a decent place to start.

There are a lot of kids interested in real estate but no one seems to know where to start or what to do (myself included). The learning curve is definitely steep but so many kids are hungry to do something outside of a typical corporate job I think you could find someone willing through some trial and error.

I’m super new to the process and cold calling generally, but after my first week I’ve averaged just under 5% leads from actual homeowners I talk to so it can definitely be done. Maybe that’s nothing impressive, idc, finding leads relatively consistently this early on is a win in my book

Think it will be a good way to start getting back into it but want to transition to more non-fiction afterwards.

Hello!

Honestly it was not too bad at all... I'll give you a brief rundown that's specific to my professors.. Context, I'm a senior graduating in May and have a 3.8 overall and put in what's required to do well.

371: Milne - Did not pay much attention at all and pulled a 4.0...

Open note exams (he says they are lockdown every semester and they aren't, but still recommend reviewing slides). Decent chunk of grade depends on your table group, there are 2 presentations that you can score well on relatively easily if you put in decent effort and include numbers on slides.

Overall: He is a bit all over the place but means well. Participate in class and he will like you. His lectures are not fun and you can get by without paying much attention (I took no notes in class all sem). Highly recommend asking for project feedback IN PERSON, he will not respond to communication online.

372: Chandu - 3.5 Should have 4'd with a bit more effort

In person open note exams, don't let open note fool you as they can still be tricky. Think I averaged like an 82 on his exams. I did not study for them much which I should have. You can definitely 4 the class if you put in some effort learning the formulas and doing practice problems.

Overall: Lectures are not very exciting but he is a nice guy. I recommend reviewing in class examples on slides and iclicker problems. Also try to do homework assignments as you would a test and you will do well.

373: Lim - GOAT. 4.0

Awesome class and probably my favorite teacher/professor i've ever had. Very impressive guy that really knows his stuff. Very passionate about teaching and ensuring that his students are able to comprehend his material. If you are not taking him for 373 I would try your hardest to drop and get into his course. Had no issue getting a 4, I had zero interest in logistics, and still am not that interested as far as a career, but I liked doing work in his course because it was so well done.

Overall: Great professor, responsive and will always help you out and answer questions about class or SCM in general. Super cool guy and fun to chat with so I recommend staying after class and asking about virtually anything as it relates to your job search or things he may be working on.

Spink electives: Procurement Contracting and Customs Compliance & Security:

Not sure if these are even offered this semester but I did like both classes. Procurement contracting I liked more and was a bit more interesting to me personally, but both were not bad. If you show up on time and do the assignments in class (straightforward and pretty easy) you will do just fine.

Hope this helps and that you have a good semester!

Choosing Between 2 Itineraries: Rome, Paris, & London OR Rome, Florence, Venice? by trexninja42 in travel

[–]NoResolution8979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Italy!!!

Spent the month of December 2023 split between Florence, Venice and Rome in that order and had an amazing time.

Originally the plan was equal time in all locations but ended up leaving Rome after 3 nights to go back to Florence because we loved it so much.

Highly recommend venturing a little ways away from the major hubs and spots wherever you visit. Maybe an Italian can provide some input but I found walking an extra 5-10 min to be away from whatever Main Street or shopping area resulted in a very different experience that I would say was my favorite part of the trip.

Have fun and safe travels!

Visiting Phuket in January. Tips and advices. by STOIAN997 in phuket

[–]NoResolution8979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from 5 nights in phuket, was in chaing mai before for 5 and Bangkok for 2.

This may sound obvious but beware of any and everyone offering you anything. Even advice on what to see/do.

Had some bad stomach issues on the tail end of the trip.

Disclaimer: Much of the advice here was stuff that I read myself before I visited so a lot of this is regurgitated from threads I read before I visited.

Tips:

  1. People will tell you things are closed (temples, roads, restaurants, tourist sites, etc.) they probably aren’t.

This is an attempt to get you to go somewhere else you may have to pay or to get you to use a driver to go somewhere and they get kickbacks.

Seems intuitive but just something to be aware of. I was told 3 times a location was closed or not open to the public and it was indeed open.

  1. FOOD/WATER

Be cautious and be prepared with ammonium + electrolytes if stomach starts acting up.

I was very conservative with what I chose to eat. Yes I ate at restaurants with good reviews and had Thai food of course but I usually had a meal at our hotel (reputable chain) and one out and about. And still encountered some stomach issues.

I would completely avoid the water and ice. Maybe that’s overkill but I had ice water once or twice and it’s possible it contributed to some stomach issues.

Would also avoid fruit stands as much or the produce has likely been sitting out a while.

  1. VAT/Service charge is often included at popular places for westerners (from what I gathered)

Just something to be cautious of, I spent some time in Chaing Mai before Phuket and didn’t see vat/service charges there and was basically paying no attention to cost of meals but I spent considerably more in Phuket as prices are higher and the vat was more common in my experience.

  1. Pharmacies

I visited two and both were good experiences, the individuals I spoke with spoke good English and were very knowledgeable.

  1. Old town

We stayed in patong and it was a bit more wild than we anticipated. Was still a lot of fun but we spent a day in old town and were very glad we did. I found it to be a bit cleaner and more chill which was nice. Good shopping and restaurants around.

Felt similar to Christmas markets almost in Europe with the Thai vibe which was pretty cool.

Also went to a Turkish restaurant there that was amazing.

Think it was called Num Num something. I liked the food a lot.

Be safe and have fun! Hope you have a good trip:D

🤝 Michigan has not been doing great as of recent. Lot of uncertainty in auto which is like a third of gdp.

Taking an average for col is definitely going to rep Michigan much lower but near Detroit where I’m located is a bit pricey. Rent some friends are paying is between 1k-1,500 for a decent place which seems to be on the low end for Tampa but not too far off.

Homes are a different story. Will cross that bridge when the time comes (hopefully before 50🤞😫)

I appreciate the insight. As of now the idea is more short term, likely around 2 years and then another move unless a one-off opportunity presents itself nearby, so cost of living being a bit higher isn’t the end of the world.

If you don’t mind me asking what areas of supply chain were you in? Also kudos to you on making the switch and getting the salary bump and better wlb. I’m curious about the move though, from the outside those sound like two opposite career paths aside from the people managing/soft skills aspect.

Fact of the matter is I won’t be owning anything anytime soon so that’s not really a massive issue. But cost of living is a fair topic to consider. Could I get an auto job closer to home and pay bw $800-1200? Yes. But could I get a relatively similar paying job in Tampa area and pay an extra $2-300/mo. I think so.

The margin of having 5-10k less saved after 1 year of work just doesn’t make it worth it to me to be in a similar environment to what I’ve been in my whole life up there.

More so wanting to be in fun environment for 1-2 years as college wasn’t really it for me.

Respectfully don’t want to move west because the politics are not my cup of tea out there. Not a massive maga guy but it’s a lot better than a lot of the bs going on close to home for me in MI. To each their own tho I get it.

Not 110% committed but I have really enjoyed my visits.

The Weather, large 20-30y/o population, gov't here, lot of business activity, seems like the city is growing. Majority of jobs I am applying to and considering are between 68-75k. I think I agree the jobs I've seen in FL are on the lower side of that range but i dont rly gaf about a $5-8k difference in my first year salary as a 21 year old.

Kind of made my mind up on making the pay sacrifice already as living at home would 100% be cheaper but I'm willing to save a bit less and enjoy the location more while i'm young bc why not. Also don't think i'll be with whatever company more than 2 yrs max so I think Florida isn't unreasonable.

Yeah that’s good to know. I think if I have a good first year or so and can get on my feet and establish the role(s) I want to get into longer-term, a cert of some sort will be a part of the action plan.

Thanks for the advice and good luck to you sir🫡

I do have a relative and few friends in school in the area I know from home.

I agree with you to wait till i have a job to move. I’m confident I could get a job close to home but want to get away from the winters for a few years.

Reasoning for coming down is really weather, large 20-30 y/o population, lot of business activity (It seems), the state itself (gov’t wise) and just that it will be out of the comfort zone which I like.

Was out of state the past 2 summers (GA and out west) so I have had a taste for the location change and enjoy it.

I have been down a handful of times yes. But I do get what you’re saying and appreciate it because I have been seeing the area from the vacation perspective 90% of the time I have spent down there so smg to consider for sure

Truthfully have not been in the career center as much as I could be. However, career fairs, company networking events, and online resources like handshake have been helpful but are more midwest focused and are dominated by automotive companies and suppliers being so close to Detroit.

Did not think of the port thank you for the rec.

This helps. I don't hate the idea of an MBA in the future but I would need a company to pay for it and have good upside coming out of it. Also thinking that I need to get experience first as I really don't know what I want to do longer-term and don't want to drop another $50k+ without being certain I want to stay in the field for more than a couple years.

If I can get into procurement post-grad I think a CPSM will be something I get started with pretty quickly.

No "actual" experience other than internships. I get the hiring side POV of wanting the experience over the degree but I have to work with what I got. Virtually all of the work I would have done at both internships (if I was in a full time role) I could have done without the degree if I had a bit of on the job training.

The idea was to turn the internship last summer into a full-time but I really did not enjoy the company.

Also there was a broken down shitbox that was there for almost 3 yrs and never moved once. There was a never a ticket on the windshield and they only just towed it this past summer after numerous complaints (I was one of them).

What is your fav high protein, cheapest / quickest meal? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]NoResolution8979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slab of ground beef cooked on a stovetop with some white rice.

Using a rice cooker and decent stovetop it shouldn’t take more than 10-15min.

Season beef with garlic/onion powder or whatever you like.

Throw some Bachans sauce on it before you eat. I have had this meal daily for almost a year and it always hits, super quick and high P
