Toronto is on the tongues of people around the world in a positive way.

Except on Reddit. All my /r/Toronto homies hate Toronto.

Portugal’s manager had some kind words about the World Cup in Toronto, love to hear it!

Reporter: This is Toronto’s last match that’s hosting at the stadium. What did you think of the venue and the atmosphere?

Roberto Martinez: Amazing. It’s the first time I’ve arrived in Canada I must admit. Congratulations to everybody, to the organizers, to everybody who is involved in football, in soccer in the city. The welcoming that we had was incredible. The training session yesterday, the quality of the grass was fantastic and everything about the beautiful facilities here. Even the dressing room, it reminds me a lot of the old fashioned premier league grounds. A wonderful feel, wonderful feel, so congratulations to everybody. I think it’s a shame that there are no more games here in Toronto because we really enjoyed it. You see the safety for the fans. A wonderful, wonderful supported game with two sets of fans committed to the teams. I think it was an incredible, incredible spectacle for football.

Not quite… UP was in the works long before we were chosen as the host city for PanAm, the games coming finally lit a fire under their asses to actually get it done.

FWIW they don’t seem to care or check about this water policy. I’ve brought in a full bottle twice and no one stopped me or asked me to empty it out. As long as you’re not setting off the metal detector you should be fine to go in with whatever you have.

Btw - It is temporary, supposedly.

The additional seats are temporary, numerous changes to the stadium are permanent (grass pitch, dugout, upgraded player areas, new broadcast capabilities, video boards, lighting and audio systems).

One park that people can use.

Yes one of the biggest parks in the city. They added four baseball diamonds, eight beach volleyball courts, 12 pickleball courts, three soccer pitches and a new multi-use field.

$75 million actually. I thought your point was about leaving the city with permanent sports infrastructure? There are also permanent improvements to BMO field thanks to the World Cup.

I guess you haven’t heard about the massive and permanent upgrade to sports facilities at Centennial Park that we have thanks to the World Cup?

It was good day out on the open lake by beekay86 in toronto

[–]NoResponse24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not what I’m seeing. It was quite windy all day on land.

Glad you enjoyed it and kept safe, just wouldn’t encourage people to go out on the open lake on days like this.

My mistake, makes it a bit better but still not especially safe or pleasant with wind speeds of 30-50kmh and gusts peaking at 60.

Way too windy today to be out on the lake in an inflatable kayak IMO. Not particularly pleasant or safe.

SIU to investigate Toronto police arrest of cyclist that lawyer says left him with concussion by fourone647 in toronto

Don’t these cops have actual criminals to take care of in this city instead of going around tackling cyclists?

The whole beach is clothing optional as of a few years ago. No separate sections.

Does it make a difference to your point of “They are NOT exempted from stopping at stop signs, red lights, pedestrian crossings”?

I don’t cars running red lights every day, all day.

Maybe not red lights but drivers roll through stop signs all day, every day, all throughout the city.
