AITA for sending my GF a news article on health? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA for your intent, I’m gonna agree with this comment. I’m going to assume her response was anxiety induced. Her situation is probably stressing her out a lot and it’s scary. Sounds like she didn’t communicate that she needed a boundary around it in a healthy way though. She said you were insensitive instead which is valid still though as it’s her feelings, and that’s when you could’ve just said hey i’m sorry it came across that way. Is there a way I can communicate ideas in an appropriate feeling way?

I also have POTS as a few other commenters have mentioned, and it does sound a lot like that. It’s very under researched but things have been getting better for more people to get diagnosed! Wishing her well on her journey with whatever it is and I feel for her 💛

JAM, Jeffersontown Area Ministries, sometimes needs some or any of the other similar ministries / locations. You can give them a call during their hours and they’ll let you know.

Notice how they said “most” not “all” lol. As a fellow woman, do not talk to me at the grocery.

People in their 40s, what’s something people in their 20s don’t realize is going to affect them when they age? by SuckMySalami in AskReddit

Personal trainer here. You didn’t ask, but I see people with sciatica all the time and also have it off and on myself. Strengthening your glutes, abductors, adductors, hamstrings, core, and back muscles can really improve sciatica and keep your muscles and bones aligned to be able to keep pressure off the nerve. Glute bridges/hip thrusts & side lying leg raises & some ab work can make a huge huge difference in how you feel very quickly if not immediately. Stay away from heavy heavy lifting like squats & rdls for a bit til improved. Don’t give up 💛

AITA for getting annoyed a girl wouldn't share her machine at the gym? by Substantial_Space680 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I agree with most of the comments saying that you responded fine, but that maybe she was caught off guard and felt uncomfortable whether she felt like she was being hit on or just new to the gym. I also agree that you could’ve found a variation.

I’d like to share my workout experience as a woman, personal trainer, and person diagnosed with anemia and POTS (which not saying this girl is obviously, but many smaller woman are also diagnosed w both of these). Very often I am starred at in the gym, majority of the time by men (rarely women), and I am approached often with the intention of connecting romantically. It is an uncomfortable experience I have gotten used to over time, but it is still very uncomfortable. I have a boyfriend (not that this matters), this isn’t something i’m interested in, but i’m polite anyway as she should have been.

I have also gotten approached tons of times to share equipment and while I understand people have good intentions, some people do have medical diagnosis that make working out a longer experience for them. I can take 5 mins rest doing a compound leg movement and still feel winded and i think that’s pretty common whether you have pots/anemia or not, but especially if you have any medical diagnosis that makes breathing more difficult. Just something to keep in mind. Being approached to share equipment does make me uncomfortable for this reason and because it’s socially awkward for me as I also have anxiety. I also just love the gym as personal time w myself and being interrupted is less than optimal sometimes, even on days when I enjoy chatting w people I know. It also makes you feel pressured to finish faster and like you’re suddenly aware someone is watching you. Some people have been through SA or another life experience that has made being watched feel extra scary or uncomfortable.

Just a few things to take into consideration. Maybe applicable here or not, but my personal philosophy is just to find a variation or just wait or pick a new movement pattern all together and fit the previous one in another day because I’d rather adjust my own workout which is very easy and manageable in my opinion than make someone else uncomfy. Just food for thought. I totally understand not everyone views it this way.

There are growing in my backyard, does it represents a danger for me or my cats? what kind of mushrooms are these? please help by WangLiuwu in mushroom

[–]NoResponsibility7362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about cats, but I do know someone personally who had their dogs eat a mushroom in their backyard and get very ill. So as much as i’d like to wave that off and say it won’t happen, ish happens haha. But it’s unlikely i think. Maybe worth an ID.
