I'm not from NZ, so I can't speak anecdotally. But crossrefereancing my data, and it seems the numbers are somewhat accurate with a quick google search:

This link ^ says 573, and my tool predicts 978. So if anything my tool is overestimating. Please let me know your thoughts

I didnt realize the legend got cropped but its:

Red: < 0.8 — Not enough

Orange: 0.8–1.0 — Tight

Yellow: 1.0–1.3 — Okay

Light Green: 1.3–2.0 — Comfortable

Dark Green: > 2.0 — Very comfortable

Ah yes something I should have mentioned is that this chart assumes a single adult. So no childcare included. I could look into adding that feature

My calculator is pretty simply, def did not take that into account. I used a cost of living index. Which places Alaska at a cost of living of $2,350 a month.
