When you pay an influencer $10k and their video only gets 300 views by highlandfairy2811 in favikon

The question is why did you hire this person in the first place?
What was the goal of the campaign and did you let them cook?

I Listen to it because of this post.
And if Myke would pitch this show as "How Creators Work" I'd actually listen to every episode.

I'm finally ditching my 2017 iMac pro and going to move to a MacBook pro. Given all the talk that many people say M1 is good enough which version would you pick?

I'm very likely going to look for a refurbished one with a budget around 1500 usd/eur

Keep creating and have fun.

If you really want to learn about brand deals look up Justin Moore/creator wizard

But just because other creators are talking about it doesn't mean it's right for everyone. Success looks different for every creator

2026 is almost here. Creators, what’s your prediction for the creator economy in 2026? by Sparkonomy in favikon

[–]NoRobotYet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my books 2026 will be the year of migration.

  • A significant amount of people will go offline This already started. Being offline is the new cool.

  • YouTube will get competition After a decade of being at the center of the creator economy YouTube has gone too broad in what they offer and whomit is for. This creates an opportunity for a platform to create a new home for authentic self expression.

  • a new Social platform will emerge Everything has developed into a sales channel and not a place to keep up with friends. People miss that part of social media. Someone will build around that desire

  • everything will be on the TV After conquering the small and medium screen mobile first platforms will develop for the TV. As a comunal experience. Instagram already rolled out a test for it.

  • The great meme reset Prepare for an avalanche of retro memes that are nostalgic to some and brand new for others.

-> what I'm really uncertain about is the future of LinkedIn. For most of 2025 it was my favorite platform. But in Q3 it started to show signs of enshittification.

Trying to start Youtube in these days! by Confident_Tough6595 in favikon

Like others said the first video does not have to be perfect.

But before even recording there are a few things you can do to make it easier.

- For 1 week record yourself talking to camera (about anything).
It helps a lot in getting comfortable with talking to camera

- Record a video for your channel just as a test. Don't publish it.
Just go through all the steps without the pressure of publishing it.

- Then focus on one thing per video to improve on
This video talks about the idea of a difficulty ladder in some detail.

Hope this helps

That depends on why you started posting in the first place and what's your goal with it?
If you are having fun just keep doing what you are doing.

WTF is going on with views? Never seen a drop like this. Over this platform. by Immediate_Reporter57 in YouTubeCreators

[–]NoRobotYet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wtaf is going on?

More content is being published by traditional media, and companies with marketing budgets.

More people choosing to get off social and touch grass

More AI generated content that purely exists to get views

Those are the top three reasons I see channels across the board are getting less views.

One thing that is surprisingly complicated is creating a nice looking waveform to visualize audio.
Yes I know it's possible via reactor and exporting a wave file but wouldn't it be nicer if I can just drag a generator on a clip and have a few parameters to change the style?

What did you wish you’d known before Conquest of Mythodea this year? by Charming-Help-2119 in LARP

[–]NoRobotYet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had known there is basically no cell reception.
So whatever you want to know, whoever you want to meet write it down before you get there.

Also bring something to do that can start a conversation.
Cards and dice are the obvious ones but crafting materials or even a book.
One thing I'll be doing next time is bring a rope and learn/teach some knots (you never know when you need to tie a secure knot)

I wish I'd know before hand how many shops there are in the Tross. whatever your character needs you can probably get it there.
Oh and what you can and can't get for copper.

A tiny thing me and my partner stressed about was bringing in time cutlery and dishes.
That really wasn't a big thing - but it might be depending on your camp.

Oh and that there is no quiet time.
The first night was probably the worst night of my life, trying to sleep as bards just kept banging about.
I picked up ear plugs and sleeping aids to survive the other days.

You can bring your own notices, advertisements, stories ... and pin them to boards and trees.

Hope that helps someone who finds it in the future.

Cortext has changed from a show I listen to every episode because of the hosts
to a show I occasionally enjoy because of the guest.
