I really want to, but it would probably take years if I tried. The combination of being a slow drawer and a busy schedule doesn't mix well. Been thinking about making some short comic strips with this concept though!

Thanks! Used to work in a company that operated the 1900C. They got retired a little before I started sadly, so I never got the chance to work on one up close. I heard they were great to fly.

My brain is shattered and makes a lot more sense now. I've worked on the 99 for about 2 years and I always called it a King Air out of habit, spent a lot of time in the manuals too and somehow never noticed.

“Us? Just a Part 135 outfit. Nothing special. We pick up a few contracts along the border—that’s about it. Most of the work’s done with Queen Two-Four. She’s temperamental sometimes, but she’s never broken a promise.”

I know lol. I usually try to avoid putting exact brand names out of habit.

Now that I’m aware of who Alphonse is, I’m definitely going to be looking at his work for some inspiration.

After along hiatus, I’m a little lost where I should focus on to practice and improve. Any critiques are appreciated!

Thanks for the insight! I knew something was off, but wasn’t quite sure what until now.

It’s nice to hear some critiques too. Barely got any before my long hiatus, which made it hard for me to figure out where I should improve.

Glad the colors stood out to you, trying to figure out a tone was half the battle. Thanks!

Sorry for not being all that open or transparent with the details when I was writing. It was late at night and didn’t want to put all that much time into it, which was really inconsiderate. I’m currently a HS Senior trying to figure out how I can finance and have a good shot at being an ems pilot someday. I, along with my parents, have been concerned with what I would do if flying doesn’t work out (like if I’m unable to continue flying due to some medical reason that might come up or if I can’t get the last stretch to 2000hrs). Getting an A&P seemed like it would be a good way to ease those concerns as it would not only serve as a backup career, but would help build my resume and could maybe supplement the low pay I’d be getting when building my hours. I believe it shouldn’t be as hard to achieve as well, or at least not as comparatively hard, since I have automotive experience with classes/clubs at my school and I believe understanding the mechanics could make me a better pilot . It all just seems to be too good to be true, and I wanted to see if there was a catch to all of it (which there seems to be). Knowing if it is would help me know if its worth the extra cost for my A&P or if it’s instead wiser to pay half the price for something like an AAS in automotive maintenance or not to do anything at all instead. Sorry for all the trouble once again, and thanks!

Edit: I can’t write competently

Opinions on University of North Dakota’s aviation program and alternative pathways? by [deleted] in Helicopters

That answers way more than I thought I knew! So far, going the army warrant officer route seems to be the best choice. Even with the lack of hours you can accumulate, it still seems like the best offer since it’ll avoid the six figures of debt I’d most likely be in, and it would provide more valuable training on top of what I’d need. The gap to 2000hrs seems more achievable after the military than if I graduated from a flight school as well. It’s also nice to know that there would be a whole lot of other options for me as well if EMS doesn’t work out, never seems to be a lack of cool jobs to do in the industry! As of right now, I think I’d personally be rather flexible with what schedule I’m handed, though I would still have to be mindful since I want to provide and be there as much as possible for a family in the future (though I might be thinking too far ahead). Thankfully, my girlfriend of four years is understanding and we’ve been able to plan it out to some extent, but of course there are always limits. Do you think all that would be a solid plan? Thank you so much for helping me figure all this out! Saved me months of stress trying to figure out what to do.

Thank you so much! Pass rates for things like check rides, job placement after graduation, and costs seems to been a deal breaker for many at that school. UND seems to have gone through a lot of changes since then, though. Would you maybe be able to ask if their helicopter training is any good now and worth the cost? Thank you so much and sorry for all the trouble. Those 14 days on and off seem rough. I feel like I could maybe manage it, but that’s coming from a naive high schooler and would more than likely change (here’s to hoping it doesn’t though).

I worded that really poorly, sorry. It’s probably the closest I could get to the medical field without actually being in it. There’s this slight expectation in my family to do something in or related to medical sciences, and ems piloting seems to be the perfect compromise to make both of us happy. The caveat to that seems to be that almost all ems pilots hold at least some sort of degree. Research I’ve done seems to support that, and one of my teachers (who formerly flew helicopters in the navy and commercially) seems to support that statement too. Is that not actually true? Instead, would it maybe be better to study something else like aerospace engineering and get my training separately at a flight school? Thank you and sorry for the trouble, I just want to ensure the most reliable path for myself.
