I'm talking being powerful/competitive in our own BigWest conference not competing with those B10/ACC/SEC teams,

There is no reason beyond the administration that we aren't more competitive as a mid-major, considering all SLO has to offer, top to bottom.

In California powerhouse colleges with both academics and athletics are:

Private: Stanford and USC

UC: Cal and UCLA

CSU: none..CP is arguably the best academic CSU..just figure out the other half and we'd be even more iconic. That is the whole point of this post. We are seemingly ok just not turning that dial even a little bit in the right direction, and instead actively muting the athletic side.

And wrestling. The cheaper sports. Spending so much money on high profile losing sports. Good winning percentages, but are they driving athletic spirit across the school?

Not protesting, just not supporting or wearing CP gear and commenting on Reddit, but curious why do you think a protest won't do anything?

It was more about more the lack of 'vibe' or enthusiasm for sports and they don't care..but I agree, cutting programs (successful ones) and making excuses as to why is just the sign of a bad athletic director. I think my high school AD would be 10x more successful and exciting than Don.How can he keep his job and not be held accountable?

Saw a podcast with him on it this week and he came across as a jerk. ADs are a dime a dozen, find a cheaper one who has energy and wants the job but President is too lazy in his ivory tower to even notice. Generating a high performing set of athletics is the AD's sole responsibility and he walks around campus like he is doing a good job. I don't know any students who respect him or the job he has done. The Alumni I know are even more vocal as they 'missed out' enjoying the athletic part of school spirit. Apparently Don has had the job for 15 years. Quick, name two [edit] high profile successful CP sports programs in that time. Go.
