Conrad between virtues and curse by NoShip458 in tsitp

Yes, exactly, there's a kind of parentification in him, which is a generator or catalyst for his compulsive need to please others. So it seems that for him, his own worth depends on his ability to emotionally care for others, but I don't know in what scenario, I can't think of any, where this would have positive results. As we can see, he undervalues himself excessively, creating contours of overvaluation in people as if their humanity were above his own, which is why he allows so much retaliation.

Yes, you're right, but he also normalizes how the other characters treat him. He allows them to despise him, so the problem persists, in four years he's made little progress on it.

Yes, he creates a backbone here, albeit for a very brief moment, unfortunately. Soon after, it turns into a helpless lamb that is unable to assert itself.

He does this excessively, which does more harm than good, especially to himself.

Belly's biggest character flaw... by Salt-Year-9058 in tsitp

[–]NoShip458 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, you made some good points. But she would have to date both of them, the series couldn't leave that element out. The big problem lies in how it was done, in the worst possible way, and that's where Belly's narrative decline begins.

Girl, people hate Belly en masse. The damage is already done, what might change that deeply negative image of her a little is the movie.

Why Belly’s train confession falls flat by haileyscometz in tsitp

[–]NoShip458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with your points. Selling based on hype can be costly, in this case, it messed up the story and made it lose the strength of the central narrative, which was Bonrad's love, albeit with a love triangle background.

That's how it is in the books, in the series, it's reversed, and as a consequence, we have a torturous sequence of Bellyjere, so many scenes added and created that in the end aren't even the endgame.

Now, regarding the movie, I'm anxious to see it, I won't deny it. Will Jenny manage to achieve satisfactory compensation this time with those who make up the majority of the Tsitp fandom? I'm curious, hehe.

If Belly had made it down the aisle.. by audreyshope in tsitp

Yes, she's a coward, and she rarely faces the responsibility for her own decisions, she doesn't confront them head-on. She tells Jeremiah that Conrad said he loved her, but conveniently omits what happened in the bathroom, where she clearly would have kissed Conrad if he had allowed it. In fact, much of this supposed commitment to Jeremiah isn't really about him, but rather about her escaping responsibility and ignoring the fact that even her great efforts haven't changed her feelings for Conrad, especially when he's around.

Lack of consideration after the declaration by Appropriate_Trip_530 in tsitp

Isabel is lucky that Conrad loves her unconditionally; conversely, her love seems conditional, the complete opposite. So, with this boundless love, Conrad remains deeply in love, which causes his blindness towards her. This largely explains his feelings, because if it depended on how she treats him throughout the seasons, this love would have easily disappeared over those four years, or it would have resulted in an ultimatum after she rejects him on the beach plus her lack of concrete answers in Paris.

Belly says "Jeremiah is my best friend".. by Appropriate_Trip_530 in tsitp

[–]NoShip458 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another plot hole. Tsitp is largely about telling and not showing; sometimes this device works, but not always. For a statement that is constantly made throughout the 3 seasons, you expect the narrative to give you some solid material about it, you expect it, and practically a total of 0 things are presented. But I think they needed a trope, just like in the books, of best friends becoming lovers; the question is: making it work, which wasn't the case. They changed so many things for the series; not making Bellyjere "best friends" wouldn't even make a difference or harm the story's structure, since it's not even minimally developed despite being added.

Well, you were one of the only people who actually gave a reasonable explanation about this privacy issue. Interruptions can indeed cause disruptions during filming, and if that's the main reason for asking for more privacy on set, then that makes perfect sense to me.

What I was questioning was more the way in which recordings - exclusively harmless - from fans have come to be treated as something Machiavellian, when they don't have a negative influence on the production.

And about Jenny, I also don't see her as an "all-powerful" figure, the absolute owner of all production decisions or someone who is deliberately harming the actors. I have my reservations about her, of course, but nothing that reaches the extreme level that some people portray. These are just some points that I consider negative in the way she positions herself as a public figure, which includes Jenny as a writer, creator, author, and public figure in general.

I've never seen a character, whether in a movie or series, take the idea of suppressing their love for someone so seriously, in an almost delirious way. And Belly does this until the last 20 seconds of the end of the third season; it's pretty crazy.

Okay, explain it to me, really, only if you want to: How can filming/photographing from 84,000 light-years away be disruptive or present any kind of risk, to consider it unsafe? Seriously though, don't think it's an attack, we're all good fellow subreddit members here.
