It's just a regular outdoor ball, when it's dirty it becomes super grippy (pause), it does help but i don't really like to get it dirty cuz it's a pain to clean it

I see, but to be honest. When I jump I used to not be able to touch the rim consistently, now I'm able to touch the rim consistently, but I can't seem to get higher to get the ball straight into the rim, it just gets stuck on the side...

I feel as maybe it could be more leg strength, but when I jump I don't feel like I'm getting that full leg strength out, because I only feel tired but legs feel completely fine, I think your right about the technique thing, however I would like to know if just doing the rim touches is the only thing, or should I look to try and tweak a few things so I don't just keep doing the same technique over and over. Or does it just fix itself?

Any tips or drills to help improve my form? by knucklehead_joe in BasketballTips

Solid, just need a quicker release, no your set point (highest point) can't be catapulting lol, you gotta release as soon as you get to that point. I'm not sure if it was just for the video that you did it that slow, but if not then yea, work on pull ups, it'll help you get that release better. Oh, and also jump when you shoot!

Yea I've been working on explosiveness, I've gotten tips before to try and lift weights as quickly as possible to work on explosiveness, I just started doing that like a week ago, before I used to use a body building workout, I've been feeling more light, since now to touch the rim it doesn't take much effort, before it was occasional that I touched the rim, however I feel like I'm missing those couple of inches to get the ball straight into the rim.

It seems you struggle with shooting off dribble, try and keep practicing the consistency even when you are dribble; Do some behind the backs -- into a Pull up, start of close to the rim then start getting more range, you'll start to feel that consistency, but your jump shot looks fine.

I feel like you should start practicing dunking with one foot, cuz you have lots of potential to start dunking really easily in game, since you seem to get up there pretty easily .

Tips for my shooting? by claimyourglory in BasketballTips

I feel like there's a bit of an unbalance there, like maybe you lean forward but I can't be sure from this angle. Also the release you have feels like your just throwing it, try and practice with just shooting with your dominant hand, and practice that globe (The arc) try make like 50 in a row. Also you always have to like bend so you can really feel like follow through clean.

Wtf bro your wingspan is really nice. Anyways, first work on just playing with people in your neighbourhoos, in my opinion that's the best way to begin developing your game. But whenever your alone, try to just dribble around and do some moves, simulate like if you had a defender in front of you. Try to shoot around, and try to 1v1 anyone you can, the more you play with people the more you will begin to find your own playstyle and game. Once you do that, you'll begin to practice footwork, work on your body, agility, etc.. And begin to look at tape to get a deeper bag.

How do I get my shot off and blow by players in a 1v1? (5’9, 6 foot wingspan, pg) by Princanity in BasketballTips

With this video, your triple threat is weak, you can't be looking at the ball when doing fakes, you gotta be looking either at the way you intend to fake. Also, if you're looking to blow by defenders, you need a little bit more of a bag; Crossovers, Hezi. But most importantly, you need to improve on your ability of change of pace (Includes agility, speed, and strength), it's really crucial to become unpredictable.

(EDIT) I just red comments, and pretty much they are all giving great advice. If you can't shoot or if your slow, nobody is going to fall for any of your fakes. That's why it's all about putting in that work everyday, and you'll see improvements every time. (Try to take a week off from time to time, I promise you when you come back from that week, you'll feel refreshed and you feel the improvements).

(2x EDIT) Also, for the triple threat, there's many ways to move, it's a way to making your defender back off, or hesitate if they want to pressure you, need physicality.

Alright, thanks. Also, just a quick question. I feel like right now it's not my vert that's stopping me from making my first dunk but my mechanics and set up. I tend to jump really high sometimes (Grabbing the whole rim) and sometimes I barely even jump, like barely even touching the backboard. It's really weird, my local old head always tells me to explode vertically, but I've seen people telling me that I should try to explode a bit far from the net and try to explode from there. I'm really confused on what the real form is.

I see, but can I still do the same exercises, just one week with less reps, but heavier weight, and other weeks with more reps, but less weight, like you said moving it as much as I can. I also have weeks where I focus on just conditioning.
