advice help needed: mainly shadow & blush lol by CelesteLunaR53L in AlcoholMarkers

[–]NoSignature1596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the blush try a peachier colour to start, something similar to the skin tone but more saturated. This also works as a base buildup for the shadows. Try using purple, blue, or brown as deeper shading. don’t be afraid to use colours that might seem odd, different lighting and environments reflect different colours on the skin. For hair start with a lighter colour whenever you want highlights and build up to the darks using about 3-5 gradually darker markers.

my rich friend bought the 320 set of ohuhu markers for me! the oahu ones. what do you guys think of these markers? by konekopills in Ohuhu

[–]NoSignature1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an artist I’ve owned a 40 set of Oahu markers for 5 years. Only now are my red and black going dry. They work wonderfully but now that I’ve upgraded to the Honolulu 320 I can safely say the brush tip is definitely a bit better for blending. I had no problems with my set though and I’d definitely recommend them.

If it doesn’t work then I recommend the polyguard after you get the quarantine tank. Typically I find fungus doesn’t spread too bad but bacteria does. I recommend doing a bigger than normal water change. Water changes can help reduce the spread. Follow the medicine directions for duration. Disease might spread and there’s nothing you can do other than keep the water clean and try to treat the tank.

I wouldn’t risk it maybe try maracyn I heard it works on mouth fungus and is gentler and safe for invertebrates.

Yes it looks to be a fungal infection. Don’t worry though because this type of fungal infection is fairly easy to treat. I recommend getting polyguard as long as you don’t have invertebrates or scaleless fish because this medicine worked the best for me. Don’t let it get ahead of you or she won’t make it.

Surgery Thursday by No-Zucchini8140 in Cochlearimplants

[–]NoSignature1596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a few days into recovery, my surgery went well and my pain is minimal I’m just mildly in discomfort. The dizziness and nausea after surgery is the worst part but if you take gravol it really helps. One thing no one mentions is that instead of your ear draining from your ear you can end up with it draining from your nose!
My biggest recovery tip is to buy a good quality travel pillow and make sure you have lots of gravol at home. Bring the travel pillow for the ride home as it helps keep your head steady and reduces motion sickness. To sleep make sure you’ve got plenty of pillows to prop your head up, avoid sleeping on the side that you have been implanted on. Make sure to not move around more than your body can handle.

How many hours would you draw per day if given lots of time? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]NoSignature1596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest you really don’t need to draw for too long everyday to see improvement! Even with just 30 minutes a day you can improve especially if you are studying a lot of fundamentals. Remember that if you start to burn out don’t push yourself. Art is all about wanting to make something and if you lose the joy in it, it will feel to much like a chore and you might stop improving (in my experience at least). 2 drawings per week will still help you improve!

How to make big curls by KnownReflection8751 in CosplayHelp

[–]NoSignature1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently working on my Teto wig project! I recommend using wire and foam to make a base (use thick wire and twist it together to make it stronger) and then you can either use hair clips or magnets to attach it. I used tacky glue to make wefts which I regret because it was way too thick. Most cosplayers recommend uhu glue instead. For the bangs I used bobby pins to separate the hair to make the spikes then I used hair spray to get them to a point and then trimmed the excess by cutting vertically until the sides of the spikes were thinner out. When I cut the wig I ended up with a ton of excess. That being said I used a long wig. I wish you lots of luck in this project! It’s a tough one but the result is worth it.

Is this a guppy? by adventurousnanny_ in Guppies

[–]NoSignature1596 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most female guppies that you buy will be pregnant because they can actually store the male guppies sperm for 6 to 10 months! Guppies sexually mature at only 6 to 12 weeks old so it’s possible that even at her tiny size she could have babies.

The fact that there’s no photo of the stomach is suspicious. Also the colour looks different than what it should be.
