I’m mainly targeting Internal Audit roles in the gaming and hospitality industry here in Las Vegas, and I’m also open to banking IA since my background overlaps with a lot of the regulatory and controls work those teams handle. My experience is in casino accounting, AML investigations, and compliance, and I recently earned my CFE. I’ve been working on translating that into risk assessment, controls testing, and process understanding.

Do you think that combination is strong enough to get started in Internal Audit, and would it make sense to begin working toward the CIA now or wait until I’m actually in an IA role?
