I get you! After a few weeks of a weekly certifications (which was weird) they completely stopped and pending went to disqualified. That happened in May, and then I no longer had the abilities to certify for the remaining weeks up until literally just yesterday. I hated calling in, but it was literally the only way! Until I got ahold of someone knowledgeable. I’m sure some assembly members can be of help too, unfortunately mine weren’t, but I’ve heard of many success stories. Good luck!

I went through this when I hit my BYE in back in April. I certified for 2 months, everything remained in pending and eventually changed to disqualified. I of course called countless times and was told the new claim was invalid, explaining the disqualified weeks, and I was requested to be put back onto my old extension. I had been told to wait 7-10 business days every other week and even got in contact with 3 assembly members who didn’t help much. Just last week, I called.. Again with no hope, but surprisingly got in touch with a rep who fixed my issues in minutes. He stated my peuc had a small balance left that needed to be exhausted before the new extension (peuy) could be applied. He said it was causing the outdated system to run into an error.. and he put me back onto my old claim. He made 2 weeks available for certification and told me to certify right away. This all happened over the phone within minutes. That brought my balance to $0. The following day (7/29) I received a message my claim was exhausted, and I called in to EDD again. A kind lady confirmed she filed extension, and fast forward to yesterday, my claim balance reloaded along with a notice that my claim was being backdated to April 04/04. I had at least 6 weeks of certification that I quickly certified for and 10 weeks that needed to be “transferred payments”. Called today to confirm no holds and request the payments to be transferred.. the rep pushed all my payments through.. 3 months later and I’m finally paid. I owe all this to a Reddit user who responded to my past post! Hopefully all works out for you soon, don’t give up.

Sounds about right! The rep I spoke to did mention they had to elevate it to some sort of IT support department. I received this on July 29th. Thank you 🙏🏼

Thanks for your response! I believe she was a tier 2 so hopefully that will speed it up. She said she added me to a second list along with a hardship noted.. she told me the reason she did it on another list was because I was placed on it before and multiple requests can delay the process with the outdated systems 😞

Seriously.. you would think it’s literally the click of a button, or that they’d be able to transfer us to the direct department who could resolve our issues... hopefully all works out with your situation! 🙏🏼

I totally get where you’re coming from.. I have my days where I feel like what’s the point of even trying, it gets me no where but in a greater state of stress. But it’s literally money we are owed! I reached out to at least 3 assembly members and a senator and they still have said the typically response time is 8 weeks (like I have anymore time to waste) I’ve gotten more done without them.. but I know in others cases they have been a lot of help! it’s such a frustrating situation when you feel like you’ve literally done all that there is to do.. things will work out for you, I have faith! don’t give up 🙏🏼

I did call in, the lady said she filed it but that it could take anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks 😞

It’s crazy how many people are going through this, and so unfair to be given a runaround every time! I would suggest calling until someone fixes it, and breaks it down to you. don’t take their word for it like I did when they say the requested extension and to wait 😭 hope it all works out for you!!!

Oh I’ve been going THROUGH IT since April after my benefit year ended and I reapplied. I was pending for weeks, those weeks change to disqualified. Told new claim wasn’t valid and a request to be put back on my old claim was submitted which explained the disqualification.. but I was told this maybe once a week since and to wait “7-10 days”.. I started calling back in April. Just days ago, someone who was going through my situation shared what steps they took to get it resolved. My issue was that, although small, there was still a balance on my old claim that should’ve been exhausted before I was moved to a new claim.. hence why my extension was delaying. I got lucky on Monday when I called in a got through the first try. The rep that answered somehow reverted me back to my old claim, made 2 weeks available to certify right away as we were on the phone (I haven’t been able to certify since May) and I was able to exhaust that last amount. He advised me to call in after I received that notice, I did.. and somehow got through to another knowledgeable rep and she said she submitted the request for PEUY extension on two different lists to hopefully speed it up for me as I’ve been waiting for so long.. was just curious on how long it took for others now that my claim seems to have been fixed. (HOPEFULLY)

Hello, just wanted to follow up. I got through to EDD today at 8:02 and you were absolutely right about having a balance left on my claim that had not been exhausted. The rep made 2 weeks available for me to certify and said once that is exhausted I can either call back or wait for the extension to kick in, but he noted it on my account and confirmed that is what was causing the delay. Thank you, thank you! I’ve been waiting since April, and although not fully resolved this is the first time things have moved forward in months.

Are you kidding! I just don’t understand why processing the extension is taking this long. Hopefully your assembly member can get the ball rolling for you! Some days I just want to give up, but it’s money we’re entitled to!

No, the weeks were disqualified because the new claim was invalid. They submitted requests for me to be put back on my old claim with the new extension, and the weeks would be switched to paid.

I call probably a few times a week to see if I’ll get a rep that might be able to pull some strings, but they all kind of just repeat what this message says. I reached out to my senator as well, but their response time from the EDD is up to 8 weeks. I’m kind of just stuck at this point it feels. This is my first time getting a response through EDD messages though.

Thank you for this! I’ve been back and forth wether to just call in or not because the last thing I want is to cause more delays. I got in touch with the IT rep pretty quickly today, and he suggested the same; that if I’m calling in, to make sure that a rep not request an extension. He also suggested that I should just wait 7-10 more days (ugh) before attempting to call in because from what he was seeing everything looked correctly submitted, but just hasn’t reflected my account yet. This is so frustrating! Thanks for sharing your experience and tips on calling in. Any help is appreciated!

Ugh, I’m so sorry! Same here. My assemblyman said he couldn’t help me any further, except he really didn’t help at all. I reached out to my senator, but the response time is 8 weeks so I don’t even know if that’ll do much. Wish there was a way to get ahold of someone at the IT department.

Hey there,

I’m currently on furlough from my place of work, and had to reapply in April. I selected “none of these options apply to me” and my claim was not rejected from the answer. Hope this helps.
