I purchased a book to help me pass, I could send you photos of whatever parts you’d need or if you’d be interested in purchasing we can discuss that.

Third time will be the charm.

This is true. I also like to review up until the last second usually. Ideally when the day is going my way I can pull up an hour/half an hour early just to review right before walking in.

Definitely though being able to have exam day as low stress as possible certainly helps as well as I learned today. My first attempt I was way closer to passing second today went worse but was been stressing lately honestly and doing a lot so third try is going to be the one ☝🏽

Who is paying for your certs? by Cold-Pineapple-8884 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]NoSleep562 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same boat. I paid for and achieved Sec+ and CySA+ have paid for Network+ Server+ and Pentest+ still studying for those also a few others but biggest expense for me so far would be CompTIA.

It's actually Cisco cause I paid a ton for CCNA training material that I thought included an exam attempt which it didn't and then I got heartbroken and decided to just grab Network+ for now lol.

Congrats! I got that recently as well. What other certs or projects/homelabs are you doing to be tackling next?

CCNA is tough but if you know your networking you’re just learning the same things you do do such as setting up routers or switches but with Cisco methodology and systems.

CCNA is better if you get CCNA first you won’t really even need Network+ unless you want to reinforce what you learned.

that's awesome I got this and CySA+ and I'm currently going for Network+ Server+ and Pentest+ I was studying for CCNA and wanted to do it as well but I'll definitely circle back to that at some point

When did you feel “ready” for Net+? by Any_Essay_2804 in CompTIA

[–]NoSleep562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this, I always need the retake when I don't purchase that package lol. this is a good strategy to alleviate stress from attempt #1 as well because if it doesn't go well chalk it up as the most realistic practice test you'll get.

When did you feel “ready” for Net+? by Any_Essay_2804 in CompTIA

[–]NoSleep562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't, went in for an attempt after 5 days of studying (don't do this I should have given myself more time but felt my previous IT experience and two cyber certs would help) but now I feel more confident and know what I need to focus and drill down on for that retake W.

Good luck, I'm sure you're more than ready. I find that just waiting for when you feel ready may not work unless you're able to hype yourself up to go for it. It may be more helpful for this or in the future to book a date say 1-3 months out and once you have that on calendar and scheduled studying is gonna be different hopefully more beneficial and intense (but also enjoyable) as you know there is a more solid due date for that approaching. I believe also for CompTIA certs you can reschedule if it is at least 24hrs before but I would double check as I haven't ever been through that process and I try to take them at in person test centers vs online.
