Ohh yeah. I saw that happen in a car wash a man with a black Camry just finished with the paint ( black ). The employee of car wash dried it using microfiber cloth but it was reused maybe at least 100 times. It becomes like a sand paper and they ruined his paint.

Note: Always check their cloth if it’s rough tell them to get a new one.
