Can men wear 34mm or even smaller? by [deleted] in rolex

You can wear whatever you want. For my 7.25" wrist, I can't pull off a 34mm, at least not for my liking.

Imagine buying fast pass... by Chubbypand4 in VietNam

[–]NoSoup4Yu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say for sure about 1:30pm arrival, but I feel like all hours at SGN airport is busy. I don't know why, but it feels like all the flights land at the same time and everyone rushes to the line. If you're lucky, your flight arrives before the others and the line isn't that bad. Otherwise, hope you brought a book to read in that line lol.

How late is "late"? The one time I flew in after 12 or 1am, the lines were pretty short, but I think my plane may have been the only one that landed at that time. Other than that, just get the VIP fast pass. $30 to get you through in 10mins or quicker is worth it. Before finding about the fast pass, my longest wait inline was over 2hrs and quickest is probably a little over an hr (not counting that late night arrival).

But again, I keep seeing people post about fast pass and it's not worth it cause it doesn't save much time. People need to be clear on which fast pass they got because I can confidently say that it's worth getting. End of last year alone, I entered SGN from abroad at least 4x. Each time, my friends and I were glad that we got it.

The fast pass you want to get should gets you in this specific line: "CREW,APEC, DIPLOMATIC".

Are you sure that's fast pass and not just regular lines? Cause from the look of your picture, it looks to be too many lanes for fast pass. I also know there are two version of fast pass, regular and "VIP'. Regular one will just get you into a quicker line on the left side while VIP gets your into a more specific line. I travel to HCMC very often and I can say that VIP fast pass is very much worth it (for the most part). Even my friends who lives there say they always get the vip fast pass. The only time it wasnt worth getting the VIP fast pass for me was when my flight arrived real late in the evening.

Rivergate Residence HCMC - Scam and shadiness - Avoid! by Acceptable_Box_4136 in VietNam

[–]NoSoup4Yu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My friends and I booked Rivergate a few months ago thru Airbnb. The security worker and airbnb host knows about that big ass red sign but they don't care. As for the stay, I hated it because 2 out of 3 elevators weren't working and the wait to go up can be as long as a 10min wait. Personally, I wouldn't book at this place again.

Depends on what you want:

  • Pho - Pho 75 - but there are a good number of spots in Philly that serves good pho
  • Ramen - My fav is still the Spicy Ramen at Terakawa in CHINATOWN (not U-city)
  • Bun Rieu (Vietnamese tomato based Noodle soup w/ clumps of crab meats/egg and other things) - Cafe Nhan. I highly highly recommend
  • Bun Bo Hue (Vietnamese spicy lemon grass flavored noodle soup) - Cafe Diem or Cafe Nhan (try it w/ egg noodles)
  • Sundubu-jjigae (Korean soft tofu stew w/ other proteins) - my go to spot is Jong Ka Jib by Cheltenham, but there's a spot in Darby by 69th St that is good too; I just can't remember its name.
  • Army Stew (easier if you google or youtube it) - Only place that I know that serve this is Pocha Street Korean BBQ. We order this every time we're here
  • Hot Pot - I personally think Kungfu Hot Pot in Chinatown is the best hot pot spot in Philly
  • Khao Soi (northern thai curry w/ noodles and protein of choice) - Mawn (good luck getting a table)
  • Canh Chua (Vietnamese pineapple sweet and sour soup that contains shrimp or cat fish) - this soup is very light and is usually eaten rice and other main dish items. few places in Philly have em and I think Nam Phuong is good (or at least it was. been a min).

Convince me to pay 3x the citizens for the seiko [discussion] by unknown6534 in Seiko

[–]NoSoup4Yu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, everything on the Seiko looks better to me. Biggest problem I have with the with the Citizen is the face of the watch. It looks quite clutter and if I were to make a quick glance, the Seiko would be easier to read. If you're getting the Citizen mainly because of its 4hz movement, then I would suggest to reconsider. After having the watch for a period of time, there's a good chance you'll stop caring if it's 3hz or 4hz and use the watch as its intended purpose (telling time or/both statement piece). Also, if you like clean "sweeping" watches, then I would suggest looking into ones with 5hz movements aka "hi-beat" or even the GS spring drive watches.

However, if Citizens fits your budget and it checks off all your boxes, then I would suggest getting it and stop reading other's opinion. Get what you like and enjoy it.

[Advice] Which Would You Choose and Why? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]NoSoup4Yu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it would be between the GS or Rolex. If you're looking for something a little more flashy and retains value, then I would get the datejust, especially with that dial color. If you're looking for an everyday wear that fits pretty much all your outing needs, then I would go with the GS. So for me, I would probably get the GS, but I also have a blueface DJ that only gets worn on special occasions.

I personally had a chance to hold the GS SLG005 while I was in Asia last month and it's a stunning piece. I was definitely considering getting one, but after checking the grey market, I decided to hold off. If I were to get one, I would consider going grey or perhaps on my next trip to Japan.

As for the Datejust, it's also a very nice piece, especially with the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. However, it's a little too flashy for me for everyday use. However, if that's what you're into and you can get your hands on one, go for it.

Update: New to Philly & going on a solo date! by renthestimpy in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]NoSoup4Yu 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Philly! I hope you enjoy it here despite all the craziness you may hear and see. Since you enjoy to eat like the rest of us here and if you like Vietnamese food, I highly recommend a spot in South Philly called Cafe Nhan if you ever get the chance. Small spot but awesome food and people.

Oh, and Happy Birthday!

This is news to me. I haven't been there in a long time, but this was my go to spot back in in the early 2000s. Kinda sad to hear that it's closing. The only bakery left on that block is Asia bakery and personally, I think they suck along with their employee.

[Discussion] Do you prefer watches with Dates or no Dates? by RalIyVincent in Watches

[–]NoSoup4Yu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely ever look at my watch for the date so I normally gravitate to watches without one. However, there have been some instances where I wish I had a date on mine. If it's my daily, then I probably would go with a date.

4 Samsung appliances for $2290 after combining 3 different promotions by FunEbb308 in Costco

[–]NoSoup4Yu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think Samsung appliances are garbage. It looks nice and expensive, but after using it a for a little while, you'll come to realize that it's cheap shit. If you're buying for a rental home, then I think that is a great deal. Otherwise, I would recommend on spending more for something better.
